Last night's debate between Bruce Blakeman and Governor Kathy Hochul highlighted a fundamental disagreement about the direction of New York State.

Bruce Blakeman focused on the challenges facing New Yorkers and the need for greater accountability in Albany. Governor Hochul, meanwhile, emphasized the role of President Trump and the federal government in addressing those challenges.

I believe New Yorkers deserve a serious discussion about the responsibilities of their state government. From affordability and public safety to economic opportunity and the cost of living, these are issues that demand attention and concrete solutions from Albany.

Regardless of political affiliation, we should all expect our elected leaders to answer difficult questions, take responsibility for their decisions, and explain how they intend to improve life for the people they serve.

New York's future deserves a debate focused on New York's problems.

Wishing Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman the very best as he takes the debate stage tonight against Governor Kathy Hochul!

Bruce’s record of leadership as Nassau County Executive demonstrates the experience, qualifications, and commitment to public service that New York needs. His vision for a safer, more affordable, and more prosperous New York offers hope to families, businesses, and communities across our great state.

As a candidate for the New York State Assembly, I believe we must prioritize public safety, support for law enforcement, responsible government spending, meaningful tax relief, and restoring opportunities for hardworking New Yorkers. These are issues that matter deeply to our communities and deserve serious discussion.

Tonight is an important opportunity for New Yorkers to hear directly from both candidates about their records, their priorities, and their plans for the future of our state.

I encourage everyone to tune in, stay informed, and take an active interest in the direction New York is heading.

Best of luck tonight, Bruce!

It was wonderful to see Italian-American pride on full display in Yonkers! 🇮🇹🇺🇸

A little rain couldn’t dampen the celebration as Italian-American heritage organizations, families, and neighbors came together to celebrate Columbus Day and the tremendous contributions of the Italian-American community.

The Yonkers Columbus Day Parade is one of our city’s oldest and most cherished traditions, honoring one of the hardest-working and most influential communities in Yonkers’ history. From its roots along South Broadway to the hills of Dunwoodie and neighborhoods throughout our city, generations of Italian-Americans have helped build the Yonkers we know today.

It’s great to see this proud tradition continuing to thrive. Happy Columbus Day, Yonkers! 🇮🇹🇺🇸

I was honored to attend the Italian Flag Raising Ceremony as we look ahead to the upcoming Columbus Day celebrations. 🇮🇹🇺🇸

The Italian-American story is an important part of the American story. Christopher Columbus, a native of Genoa, made his historic 1492 voyage across the Atlantic—an event that profoundly changed the course of world history.

Centuries later, millions of Italians came to the United States, particularly during the great waves of immigration in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They came seeking opportunity but often faced severe prejudice and discrimination. In 1891, eleven Italians were lynched by a mob in New Orleans in one of the darkest episodes of anti-Italian violence in American history. The following year, President Benjamin Harrison called for a nationwide observance of the 400th anniversary of Columbus’s voyage, and Columbus Day would eventually become closely associated with Italian-American heritage and pride.

Here in Yonkers, generations of Italian Americans helped build the city we know today. They opened small businesses, built homes and neighborhoods, practiced their trades, raised families, and became deeply involved in civic life.

You can still feel that Italian heritage throughout Yonkers—in our craftsmanship, cuisine, neighborhoods, traditions, and local government.

Today, we celebrate generations of Italian immigrants who overcame hardship, built a better life for their families, and helped pave the way for the immigrant communities that followed.

It was a privilege to celebrate that legacy with the Italian-American community of Yonkers. 🇮🇹🇺🇸

Buon Columbus Day!
