Women building together can create change that lasts well beyond a single afternoon. 🫖

This November, gather with us for Habi-Tea, a special Women Build event celebrating the women who give their time, talents, and support to help local families build brighter futures.

Enjoy an afternoon with friends and fellow community members, featuring tea, finger foods catered by Cooking Up Connection, and a conversation with our featured speaker, Shawn Fink.

Friday morning, York Habitat for Humanity broke ground at 636 E. Philadelphia Street, the future site of a singly family Habitat home.

This marks York Habitat's 151st home in York County and 105th in the City of York. A previous home on the lot was destroyed by a fire in February 2020, which spread through four homes and displaced 12 people. Now vacant, the lot was donated by the previous owner to York Habitat.

“Building a new home in this community does a lot of good,” says Natasha Kukorlo, Executive Director of
York Habitat for Humanity. “It benefits the City of York as a whole by improving property values, putting
a home back on the tax docket, and uplifting the people who will find hope in stable, equitable housing.”

It is one of three new builds the organization will start this year, with construction of a
duplex on W. College Avenue to begin soon after.

Vicki Hinson brings more than 30 years of accounting experience to her new role with York Habitat for Humanity.

Since 2017, she has worked with the organization as a consultant and is excited to transition to be part of the Habitat team and support them as they advance Habitat’s mission.
