On Saturday, Oct. 10, my office will be hosting our FREE Community Health Fair, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in York.

I highly encourage you to stop by and take advantage of free health services and resources, including vaccinations, lead testing, health care resources, food, kids’ activities, Zumba and more. The York City Fire Department will also be there for a live demonstration. We hope to see you there!

It's an honor to recognize the hard work and sacrifice of our veterans by declaring Sept. 29, 2026, as VFW Day in Pennsylvania. The VFW continues to be a powerful advocacy organization for our heroes. Thank you to all of our veterans for your service and dedication.

The recent posting of multiple racist threats within the 95th District is not only disheartening, but wholly unacceptable. Attempts to organize or stoke violence in any form are beyond condemnation, and I'm encouraged by the residents, community leaders, and law enforcement promises to not allow York to be divided by anyone seeking to provoke fear or hatred.

There is nothing powerful about blind hate; it's weakness, and I'm proud to stand together with my neighbors in York City against all acts of bigotry and violence.

I encouraged anyone who feels they may be in immediate danger or believes a situation requires urgent assistance to contact local law enforcement or emergency services. For any incidents of discrimination, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission is a state resource that provides information, support, and guidance. The commission works to address concerns related to bias and promote equal treatment within communities.

It was a privilege to tour Healthy Steps Diaper Bank and speak about the importance of Diaper Need Awareness Week. The issue of diaper shortages goes beyond newborns and infants but severely impacts our seniors across the state as well.

I'm proud to announce five projects in my legislative district have been awarded a combined $1,054,378 in state funding through the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Local Share Account Statewide program.

The grants will support projects that enhance public spaces, improve local infrastructure and street maintenance, strengthen emergency response capabilities, purchase vehicles needed to transport local food supply items, and address property maintenance to facilities where housing and supportive services are located.

The projects receiving state funding are:
West York Borough Streetscape Improvement Project — $129,378
Infrastructure to Sustain Essential Housing Support Services in York— $300,000
Family First Health Corporation HVAC project— $125,000
York County Food Bank Transport Vehicles— $50,000
YAUFR Portable Radio Replacement — $450,000

Strong communities depend on reliable emergency services, safe infrastructure and community organizations that have the resources to serve their neighbors. These projects address those needs, and I’m excited to watch the impact of these funds uplift our community in the coming months.

All the projects have been funded through the statewide Local Share Account Program, which was established as an amendment to the PA Race Horse Development and Gaming Act. The program allows for the distribution of gaming revenues through the Commonwealth Financing Authority to support projects in the public interest throughout Pennsylvania.

Today, we pause to recognize the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001 — to the many lives lost, the families forever changed, and the courage shown by so many in the face of unimaginable tragedy, we thank you and hope to honor your sacrifice.

May we never forget those who were taken from us, and may we continue to honor their memory with compassion, unity, and hope.

This Monday is Labor Day, where we appreciate and recognize the hard work and contributions of Pennsylvania workers who strengthen our communities and economy every day. I’m proud to continue supporting efforts that advance better wages, paid leave, workplace protections, and opportunities for working families across Pennsylvania.

In observance of the holiday, my office will be closed Friday, September 4th and Monday, September 7th. We will reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 8th. Thank you!

I would like to formally acknowledge the recent top placements of York Academy Regional Charter and School York Suburban High School in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2026-2027 High School Rankings.

First issued in 2007, the U.S. News & World Report releases annual rankings of public, K-8 and high schools with the stated goal of providing students and families the data and transparency needed to make informed educational choices and prepare students for college success.

This year, York Academy Regional Charter School ranked No. 1 among high schools in the York area, No. 25 in all of Pennsylvania, and No. 732 nationally.

Additionally, York Suburban High School was the No. 2-ranked school in the York area, as well as No. 60 in the Commonwealth.

Increasing the quality and access to education in York County has been one of my main priorities since taking office and the students, teachers, counselors, staff, administrators, families and community members of both schools who made these achievements possible deserve ample recognition.

Congratulations, this accomplishment belongs to all of you! I’m blessed to celebrate our students’ continued success.
