📚💙💛🥳🙌WELCOME BACK, SCHOLARS!! WHAT AN HISTORIC WAY TO END OUR FIRST WEEK!

As we welcomed our scholars back for the 2026–2027 school year, our first week ended with an unforgettable opportunity to be part of York history!

This past Friday, our scholars proudly joined community members for the Martin Luther King Jr. Street Dedication and Community March, marching along College Avenue to historic Penn Park.

The occasion carried special significance because August 28 marked the 63rd anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s historic “I Have a Dream” speech, delivered during the March on Washington in 1963. The City of York honored Dr. King’s life and legacy with an honorary street designation along College Avenue.

Our scholars showed up and represented Crispus Attucks YouthBuild Charter School to the fullest! They witnessed history firsthand while walking alongside members of their community in recognition of Dr. King’s enduring message of unity, equality, justice, service, and opportunity for all.

What a powerful way to begin a new school year — not only learning history in the classroom, but walking in it!

We are proud of our scholars and excited for everything the 2026–2027 school year has in store!
