Able-Services is a nonprofit organization providing day program services to adults with special needs. We are part of the Leg Up Farm Family of companies.
Soon after Leg Up Farm opened, the need for services beyond the educational setting was realized, and the idea for Able-Services was born. Located at the Able Training Center, at 3100 North George Street (the former site of Shiloh Nurseries and Brown’s Orchards & Farm Market), we are licensed as an Adult Training Facility by the PA Department of Human Services. We'd like to recognize "J" for more than just his willingness to help with vacuuming. While cleaning, he noticed a peer resting on a yoga mat nearby. Instead of vacuuming around her, he thoughtfully picked up the rug and moved it to another area so he could clean without disturbing her.
It's acts of kindness, consideration, and respect like this that make us so proud. Great job, J! 🌟

🦆 Duck Scavenger Hunt Day! 🦆
Last week, rubber duckies were hidden throughout our program area, and participants spent the day searching high and low to find them. There were plenty of smiles, excitement, and a little friendly competition as each duck was discovered!

One of our favorite community partnerships continues! 💙
After building a relationship with the Youth Development Center last summer, we're grateful to continue spending time together this summer. These visits are always a positive experience for everyone involved, creating opportunities for connection, friendship, and fun.
This week, we met at the park and enjoyed a few rounds of Uno and 5 Second Rule. We shared plenty of laughs and made some great memories along the way. We already look forward to the next visit!

One of our favorite regular outings is visiting Autumn House for Bingo! 🎉💙
Our participants always enjoy spending time with the residents, sharing laughs, making connections, and cheering each other on. We look forward to these visits and the friendships that continue to grow with each game.

A beautiful day at Lake Williams! 🌿💙
Our group enjoyed a 2½-mile hike, took in the sights and scents of nature, and shared some special moments along the way. One participant proudly led the hike, another excitedly pointed out the sweet scent of honeysuckle and even shared the heart-shaped petals of the flower with staff.
It's moments like these—filled with curiosity, encouragement, friendship, and appreciation for the world around us—that make our hearts full.
