Happy Father's Day to all of the dads holding it down for their families! We are proud to support dads, father figures, and their families through the Women, Infants, and Children program, coaching, early childhood education, workforce development, housing education, and ALL of our programs that empower people to move toward self-sufficiency.

Last month, we hosted The Built to Lead Fatherhood Roundtable, developed as part of the Head Start Fatherhood Initiative to intentionally engage fathers, father figures, and family leaders in meaningful conversations around their roles within their families.

Many fathers reported leaving the session with new ideas and strategies to support their families and expressed appreciation for the opportunity to connect with other dads in the program. You got this!

CPC offices are closed Friday, June 19, in recognition of Juneteenth (short for “June Nineteenth”).

Juneteenth marks the day when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, in 1865 to take control of the state and ensure that all enslaved people be freed. Juneteenth honors the end to slavery in the United States and is considered the longest-running African American holiday.

Community Progress Council exists to connect people in York County to greater opportunity. And, as the largest provider of services to low-income families with children under 5 in York County, we have a unique opportunity to interrupt generational poverty.

Last year, we served 7,658 children under 5 and their families, providing the resources and support to move forward toward economic self-sufficiency — impact for present day and the next generation.

Help us give a big CPC welcome Lisa Ritt as our new Director of Facilities! A Certified Facility Manager with more than two decades of experience, Lisa brings deep expertise in facilities operations, capital projects, and multi-site leadership.
