Notice from York Water Company, YWC, regarding an upgrade to their customer portal. As a result, customer service hours will be modified.

-YWC will be closed 10/30 through 11/02 at 11:00 AM.

-Online, phone, and in-person payment services will not be available from 10/29 at 4PM through the opening on 11/02.

-Due to the YWC closure, the October sewer bill due date will be moved Friday, 11/06.

Trick or Treat activities in Spring Garden Township are traditionally recommended to be held on October 31st from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Individuals or families wishing to participate in Trick or Treat activities should leave their porch or front yard lights on during this time.
In the case of inclement weather, residents, individual developments, and organizations are free to reschedule their participation and events accordingly.

Please keep safety in mind:
• Wearing bright clothing or add reflective tape and carry a flashlight or glow stick.
• Walk on sidewalks whenever possible and cross streets at corners or crosswalks.
• Drivers are urged to slow down and stay alert during these hours.
• Parents should inspect all collected treats before children consume them.

Alert Regarding Fraudulent Email Requests for Payment

Spring Garden Township, 09/16/2026 – Spring Garden Township has been made aware of recent incidents in which individuals have received fraudulent emails impersonating a representative from a municipality requesting payment for fees, permits, or municipal services. These messages may appear to come from official municipal departments but are not legitimate. While Spring Garden has not received any reports of this activity occurring within our township, we would like make everyone aware of this fraudulent practice.

We urge all residents, property owners, and business owners to exercise caution when receiving any unexpected communication requesting payment or sensitive information.

How to verify if a communication is legitimate:
• Check the sender’s email address carefully. Official municipal emails will come from recognized municipal domains (.org).
• Look for spelling or grammatical errors, unusual wording, or urgent demands for payment—common signs of fraud.
• Confirm any fee or payment request by contacting the municipality directly using the phone number (717-848-2858) or email ([email protected]) listed on our official website (springgardentwp.org).
• Do not click on links or open attachments in suspicious emails.
• Be cautious of communications that threaten penalties or demand immediate action.

How to protect yourself from fraud:
• Never provide personal information over email unless you have verified the request through official channels.
• Never provide banking details, or payment over email.
• Install and routinely update antivirus and spam filtering software.
• Report suspicious emails to the municipality and delete them immediately. Please do not forward suspicious emails to Spring Garden or any other entity.
• Regularly monitor your financial accounts for unusual activity.

Spring Garden is actively monitoring for such incidents and working to ensure the safety and security of our communications. If you have concerns or believe you may have received a fraudulent message, please contact us directly.
