IT'S OFFICIAL! The name of founding principal N. William O'Connell has been officially added to Pioneer Middle School! The middle school foyer was packed to capacity today with O'Connell family members, friends, and former teachers, staff and admins, as the memorial wall was unveiled. Members of the middle school band played the Alma Mater directed by Mr. Burch. Several former students were among the guest speakers during the dedication, which lasted over an hour. Everyone agreed it was a worthy way to honor Mr. O'Connell, who led the founding of the middle school and championed the grade 5-8 concept regionally. More coverage of this event will be posted to the PioneerTV YouTube channel in the near future.

Math got a little spooky in Mrs. Bockhahn’s 7th grade classes! Dressed as a witch, "Mrs. Broomfield" brought The Case of the Haunted Candy Jar to life by reading a Halloween-themed story that challenged students to put their math skills to the test, exploring mean, median, mode, range, and probability. Students submitted their guesses for the number of candy corn pieces in a jar, with Avery T. winning with a guess of 308 (actual number 318)!
