YWCA Mahoning Valley is partnering with AAUW Youngstown to host the Preventing Drug and Human Trafficking Event on Wednesday, October 14, at 5 pm. Event will feature a resource fair and panel discussion and will held at Unitarian Universalist Church of Youngstown. Event is free to attend. ✨Spotlight: Olympia Scott-Feagins, Co-Chair of the Y's Women Event Committee ✨

As Co-Chair of the Y's Women: Power of the Purse event committee, Olympia brings passion, purpose, and an infectious energy to everything she does.

Olympia describes herself as a woman driven by faith, family, and fellowship, with a passion and zeal for life that's impossible to miss. While some may have called her "aggressive" during her years in Banking & Securities, she prefers the term passionate and we have a feeling most who know her would agree! A proud Gemini and self-proclaimed foodie, Olympia loves recreating unforgettable dishes and has an uncanny ability to sing, or rap, along to just about any song, earning her the title of "human jukebox."

One quote that guides her life is Gandhi's famous words: "Be the change you want to see." It's a philosophy that fuels her purpose and inspires her commitment to helping others, always believing that love can conquer all.

When it comes to supporting the YWCA, Olympia's commitment is rooted in action. She believes deeply in the YWCA's mission to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. Having witnessed firsthand the organization's dedication to serving the ever-changing needs of the community through programs, partnerships, advocacy, and support services, Olympia continues to champion the YWCA because she knows the mission is carried out not just in words, but in meaningful deeds.

For Olympia, Y's Women: Power of the Purse is the perfect blend of "edutainment" and impact. She loves how the event creates a fun, beautiful, and engaging atmosphere while shining a spotlight on the life-changing work of the YWCA.
