💙🚔 YPD CAME THROUGH FOR BUNN AGAIN! 🚔💙

We are so thankful for our friends at the Youngstown Police Department! This time, the YPD Chaplain Corps collected hygiene products, and Bunn was fortunate to be a recipient of some of these generous donations. 🧴🪥🧼

But this is far from the first time YPD has shown up for our Bunn scholars! Over the years, they have joined us for clap-ins, recess, Cops and Bobbers, D.A.R.E., Motor Patrol activities, Fun Day, K-9 visits, ice cream treat giveaways, and SO much more! 💙

Whether they are helping meet a need, playing with our students, teaching an important lesson, or simply spending time building relationships, YPD continues to show our students what community partnership looks like.

We truly appreciate the Youngstown Police Department and all they do for our Bunn students, families, and community!

Thank you, YPD, for always showing up for Bunn! 💙🚔

Youngstown Community,
The Youngstown Police Department Chaplains and F.O.P. Lodge 28 is launching a donation drive to support Victoria’s Vision in collecting blankets & pillows.

Our officers respond to calls and often see homes without basic bedding materials for people to stay warm and safe. Every child deserves a comfortable pillow and a warm blanket. We are asking for donations of new blankets and pillows.

Donation Guidelines:
Blankets: New blankets in original packaging
Sleeping Bags: (New in packaging)
Pillows: Due to health and hygiene regulations, we can only accept brand-new pillows in their original sealed packaging.

Drop-off Location and Times:
Donations can be brought directly to the lobby of the Youngstown Police Department.
Address: 116 W. Boardman St.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Collection Dates: We will be collecting up until Friday, October 23rd at 4 PM

The Y.P.D. Chaplains will be promoting the blanket & pillow drive and collecting at their individual churches & parishes.

Southside Recycling located at 98 E. Florida Ave. in Youngstown will be collecting coats, hats, gloves, boots, blankets & pillows.

We’d like to thank everyone for their kindness and generosity in helping those who are less fortunate within our community.

⚠For immediate release..⚠

Beginning Tuesday, September 1, 2026, the Youngstown School Zone Safety Initiative will resume for the 2026/2027 school year. Using the TrueBlue Single Beam per-lane LIDAR system, our school zones will be photo enforced on all school days until 6pm, when children are present or likely to be present, to slow drivers down in our school zones.

The school zone beacons will be flashing (blinking yellow) before, during and after arrival and dismissal times for each individual school. When the school zone beacons are flashing, the 20mph reduced speed will be enforced. When the beacons are not flashing, the regular speed limit will be enforced on school days until 6pm, meaning drivers can still receive a citation for exceeding the posted speed limit even when yellow lights are not flashing.

A list of the photo enforced school zones and their schedules is below.

The Youngstown Police Department is committed to slowing drivers down in our school zones to ensure the safety of our students, teachers and community.
