Chris and Jenn Carr built a premier mountaineering business in Mt. Shasta as the owners of Shasta Mountain Guides. They chose Mt. Shasta to build their business and connect climbers to world-class mountaineering in Siskiyou County.

Strong businesses are grown in Siskiyou. Starting in 1995, the Jopson Family started Mountain Crest Gardens understanding that Siskiyou County could provide the ideal climate to grow cold-hearty succulents. Today, the locally owned business is one of the largest online direct-to-consumer succulent sellers in the United States. Vice President Matts Jopson shares the Mountain Crest Gardens story.

In 2023, the Siskiyou Economic Development Council (SEDC) was awarded $5 million from the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) to administer their Healthy Soils Block Grant Pilot Program (HSP).

This program gives funding directly to Siskiyou County agriculture producers to implement healthy soils practices on their operations.

From planning and design to the final build, the Trail Labs team creates trails that connect people to the outdoors.
