Their heroism must not be forgotten!

25 years ago today, nearly 3,000 lives were lost on September 11. Among them were 343 members of the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) who never made it home from the World Trade Center. We remember them, the lives they touched and the families who have carried their loss for 25 years.

But the loss did not end that day. Since the attacks, another 469 firefighters have died from illnesses related to their work at the World Trade Center, while thousands of first responders, recovery workers, volunteers and others exposed that day continue to face serious health challenges.

25 years later, our hearts are with the families and loved ones who lost someone that day, and with everyone whose life or health continues to be affected by what happened at the World Trade Center.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸
