Today, we honor the CAL FIRE heroes who gave their last full measure in service to California during the month of June. Their selfless devotion came at a tremendous price, but their legacy shines brightly. We celebrate their sacrifice, cherish their stories, and acknowledge the enduring impact they have had on our department and the communities they safeguarded.

🚜Mow Smart. Work Smart. Prevent Wildfires. 🔥

As temperatures rise and vegetation dries out, it's important to complete mowing, w**d trimming, and other vegetation management activities before 10 a.m. when conditions are cooler and humidity is higher.

When using lawn mowers, w**d trimmers, chainsaws, or other power tools:

✅ Start early - Finish before 10 a.m.
✅ Avoid operating equipment on hot, dry, or windy days
✅ Keep equipment well-maintained and equipped with spark arresters when required
✅ Clear the area of rocks and metal objects that could create sparks
✅ Have a shovel and water source or fire extinguisher nearby

A single spark can start a wildfire.

By taking a few precautions, you can help protect your home, community, and our landscapes.

One Less Spark = One Less Wildfire.

of our nation. Their sacrifice is a solemn reminder of the cost of liberty and the strength of those who choose to serve a cause greater than themselves. Their courage and sacrifice continue to shape the values we hold and the communities we serve. We stand in reverence with their families and communities as we remember the fallen.

As we celebrate outdoors this Memorial Day weekend, enjoying campfires, sharing stories, and making s'mores, let's remember: one less spark means one less wildfire. Always keep a close watch on campfires and ensure they're completely out and cold to the touch before leaving.
