🚸 Keep an Eye Out for Little Trick-or-Treaters!

Halloween brings more pedestrians into our neighborhoods, making it especially important for drivers and families to stay alert.

πŸš— Drivers: Slow down in residential areas, watch carefully for children crossing streets, and avoid distractions behind the wheel.
🚢 Trick-or-Treaters: Use sidewalks and designated crosswalks whenever possible. Look left, right, and left again before crossing, and never assume a driver sees you.
πŸ”¦ Parents: Equip children with flashlights or glow accessories and accompany younger trick-or-treaters.

Let's work together to keep our Yuba-Sutter neighborhoods safe this Halloween!

πŸš‘ ASK AN EMT: What should you do if someone suddenly goes into cardiac arrest?

The answer is simple: Act.
πŸ“ž Call 911.
πŸ‘ Start CPR.
⚑ Get an AED.

BCA's EMTs and paramedics are trained and ready to respond when you need us. But during a sudden cardiac arrest, the actions of a bystander before EMS arrives can be critical.

Don't be afraid to help. Every second counts.

πŸ‘» Spooky Costumes Shouldn't Be a Safety Hazard!

Before your little ghosts and goblins head out, Bi-County Ambulance encourages parents to keep these costume safety tips in mind:
πŸŽƒ Choose costumes that fit properly to prevent trips and falls.
πŸ”¦ Add reflective tape or glow accessories to improve visibility.
πŸ‘€ Use face paint instead of masks that may obstruct vision.
πŸ‘Ÿ Wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking.
✨ Choose flame-resistant costumes and accessories.

The best Halloween costume is one that lets kids have fun while staying safe!

⚑ Here's your challenge for today: Find an AED.

Think about the places where you spend the most time β€” your workplace, school, gym, church, community center, or favorite gathering place.

Do you know where the nearest AED is located?

Don't wait until an emergency to find out.

Take a few minutes today to locate an AED somewhere you regularly spend time. Then make sure your coworkers, friends, or family members know where it is, too.

Preparation saves time. And when sudden cardiac arrest happens, every second counts.

πŸŽƒ Halloween Safety Starts Before the Costumes Go On!

Halloween is just around the corner, and Bi-County Ambulance wants to help families across Yuba and Sutter Counties celebrate safely!

Before heading out for trick-or-treating:
βœ… Plan your route and stick to familiar neighborhoods.
βœ… Make sure children know how to contact a parent or trusted adult.
βœ… Set a meeting location in case anyone gets separated.
βœ… Bring a flashlight and make sure phones are charged.

A little preparation can go a long way toward a fun and safe Halloween!

πŸš‘ Preparedness Starts with Partnership!

Bi-County Ambulance was proud to participate in the 2026 Yuba County Fall Be Prepared Fair, joining local first responders, emergency management professionals, and community partners to help residents prepare for emergencies.

Events like these are a great opportunity to connect with our community, share important safety information, and showcase the people and resources dedicated to keeping Yuba County safe.

A special thank you to the Yuba County Office of Emergency Services for organizing another successful event and bringing our community together!

We're already looking forward to next year!

Fifty years is an incredible milestone.
But it's not the finish line.

Every day brings new opportunities to improve, innovate, and continue serving the people of Yuba and Sutter counties with excellence.
To our employees, partners, community leaders, and the families who have trusted us for generationsβ€”

Thank you.

Here's to the next 50 years of answering the call.
Follow along as the journey continues. πŸš‘βœ¨

⚑ You've probably walked past one. Would you know how to use it?

An Automated External Defibrillator β€” or AED β€” can analyze a person's heart rhythm and, when needed, deliver a shock that may help restore an effective rhythm.
AEDs are designed to guide users through the process with clear voice and visual instructions.

Take a moment today to notice where AEDs are located at your workplace, school, gym, church, or other places you regularly visit.

In an emergency, knowing where to find one can save valuable time.

πŸ‘ Your hands can help save a life.

If a teen or adult suddenly collapses and is unresponsive:

1️⃣ Call 911.
2️⃣ Push hard and fast in the center of the chest.
3️⃣ Use an AED as soon as one is available.

A cardiac emergency can happen anywhere β€” at home, at work, at school, or out in the community.

Knowing the basics of CPR means you're better prepared to act until first responders arrive.
