Sutter County Library The library is an educational, recreational and cultural resource that encourages lifelong learning

Sutter County Library consists of the Main Library in Yuba City, and three rural branch libraries in the communities of Live Oak, Sutter, and Rio Oso. The library is an educational, recreational and cultural resource that promotes reading and related activities, supports formal educational course work, and encourages lifelong learning for the residents of Sutter County. The library includes collections of books, magazines, newspapers and audiovisual materials, and provides services including online databases, reference assistance, interlibrary loan and public access to the internet. Ongoing programs support children’s services, pre-teen and teen services, adult services and family literacy, including citizenship preparation and civic participation.

November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), and we’re celebrating the creativity and talent right here in our community!

Join us at the Sutter County Library for our Local Author Open Mic Night!

Come meet local writers as they share their stories, discuss their work, and celebrate their love of writing! Each participating author will have 10 minutes to present, followed by opportunities to chat with authors, learn more about their work, and even purchase copies of their books.

Have a budding artist, storyteller, or creative mind in your life? Here’s their chance to become a PUBLISHED CREATOR! 🌟

The Sutter County Library’s Teen Advisory Board is accepting submissions for our Creative Youth Magazine, a special publication dedicated to showcasing the incredible talent of local youth!

🖍️ Drawings, paintings, poetry, short stories, digital art, and more are welcome!

📅 Submission Deadline: November 20th!

📧 Email submissions to [email protected] or drop them off at the Sutter County Library, 750 Forbes Avenue, Yuba City.

🎨👻 WATERCOLOR AFTER DARK: A SPOOKY GOOD TIME! 🖌️✨

Last Thursday evening, we had a wonderful time at our Watercolor After Dark adult art workshop at the Sutter County Library!

Local artist Christina May guided participants through creating their very own watercolor ghost portraits. 👻🎨 It was an evening filled with creativity, laughter, and a little Halloween spirit!

We love providing opportunities for adults in our community to slow down, try something new, and connect with others through art.

A huge thank you to Christina May for sharing her time and talent, and to everyone who joined us for this special evening!

We had such a wonderful evening at the Sutter County Library for our Mummy & Me Art Class!

Local artist Christina May guided our families through creating their own adorable mummy masterpieces, and we loved seeing all of the creativity, laughter, and quality time happening around the room. 🖌️🧡 Every piece turned out a little different, which made them even more special!

A huge thank you to Christina for sharing her talent with us and to all of the families who joined us for this fun, festive evening. We hope you had as much fun creating together as we did having you! 🎃
