Reminder to LOCK YOUR DOORS on your house and vehicles.

Today, this gentleman was in the Reed Street neighborhood and then later around Fletcher Street checking front doors and digging through belongings outside. We were made aware of it just recently and the subject has not been located.

If you by chance have better photos or notice something weird in your neighborhood, please call 911 right away.

Appears to be a Male, Bald, facial hair, wearing a Black sweatshirt and Tan pants.

Be aware of your surroundings and please remember to lock up each day/evening.

**FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE**

On August 7, 2026, at approximately 5:20 PM, Zillah Police were dispatched to a physical Domestic Violence call at a residence in the 800 blk of 3rd Avenue. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the suspect had fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. Probable Cause was established at the scene for multiple Domestic Violence crimes.

At approximately 7:16 PM, the suspect was located driving the victim’s car in the city limits of Toppen*sh. Officers tried to perform a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the driver failed to yield to officers’ signals to stop. A short pursuit ensued, leaving the city limits of Toppen*sh.

The driver drove NB on Track Rd, towards Wapato, as officers continued signaling for the driver to stop, but he still failed to yield. The driver subsequently turned WB onto McDonald Rd from Track Rd, and into the path of an eastbound Burlington Northern train. The train collided with the suspect vehicle as it attempted to cross in front of the train. The driver of the vehicle was killed in the collision.

Washington State Patrol was called to the scene to assist with the collision investigation, and Grandview Police Department was requested to handle the formal investigation. Further media inquiries should be directed to the Grandview Police Department, attention to Assistant Chief Bailey.

Hoping for WIND and some FRESH air! Follow the Zillah Police Foundation

We are actively watching the air quality and weather for our event on FRIDAY! While we absolutely want to spend a fantastic evening in the park with our community, we want to make sure EVERYONE has the opportunity to share in the event. The smoke has been choking the last few days combined with heat expected over 100*, lets just be real.... Its not ideal for anyone.

We will make a final determination Thursday at 6 on if we proceed with the event or postpone it to another night. Stay tuned! We hear wind is coming Thursday with some FRESH air!

*Missed Connection*

To the driver of the GMC pickup...

We locked eyes briefly this early morning. Well... technically, your bumper locked eyes with a parked car. You came in fast, backed up even faster, and then sped off into the sunrise before anyone could even ask for your name.

If you felt a spark (or heard a crunch), we'd love to reconnect. The parked car has been thinking about you ever since. No need to play hard to get, we already know what you're driving. 😉

Please give the Zillah Police Department a call so we can help reunite you with the owner of the vehicle you met this morning. Sometimes the best relationships start with an honest conversation... and an insurance exchange.
