The Ajou university held a ceremony to confer the title of Honorary Professor on His Excellency Ilham Illias , Ambassador of Malaysia to Uzbekistan, for his significant contribution to the development of cultural dialogue between the countries, as well as to expanding cooperation and exchange of experience in the field of education between Malaysian and Uzbek universities. The Rector of Adju University in Tashkent, Professor G.A. Muratov, presented this award as part of the Uzbekistan-Malaysia Cultural Night.

Uzbekistan is strengthening its position as a regional hub for environmental initiatives through programs in afforestation, air quality improvement, waste management, and biodiversity conservation. The Expo (May 31 to June 5 in Samarkand) will serve as a platform bringing together representatives of industry, financial institutions, and international partners to promote sustainable development solutions.

160426 Ambassador Ilham Illias presented certificates for participation in Malay language courses/ short documentaries to students from Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies and University of World Language. The students performed Malaysian dance, choir singing and debates. This performance by youth of Uzbekistan show the potential of cultural cooperation in the future. 13032026 His Excellency Ilham Tuah Illias, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Uzbekistan, was interviewed by Ms. Irina Nesterova, Journalist of TV Channel Dunyo Bo’ylab, for the television project entitled “Uzbekistan: A Decade of Reforms Through the Eyes of the Diplomatic Corps.”

During the interview, His Excellency shared his perspectives on Uzbekistan’s reform agenda over the past decade, highlighting the country’s significant progress in economic development, governance, and international cooperation. The Ambassador also provided his observations on the growing bilateral relations between Malaysia and Uzbekistan, as well as the expanding opportunities for collaboration in areas such as trade, investment, education, tourism, and cultural exchange.

11032026 The Embassy of Malaysia in Tashkent organized the World 2026 programme on Wednesday, 11 March 2026. The event was held as part of the global initiative that encourages Muslims around the world to dedicate one hour to the recitation, reflection, and understanding of the Holy Qur’an.

All Home-Based Staff (HBS) and spouses of the Embassy participated in the programme. The session provided an opportunity for officers and staff to come together in a spirit of unity and reflection, strengthening both their spiritual connection and camaraderie within the mission. During the programme, participants engaged in the recitation of selected verses from the Qur’an and reflected on their meanings and values, emphasizing the importance of compassion, integrity, and guidance in daily life.

The Embassy’s participation in World 2026 reflects its continued support for initiatives that promote spiritual awareness, unity, and positive values within the diplomatic community.
