Work is moving forward in Frederiksted.

St. Croix Administrator Sammuel Sanes, Public Works Commissioner Derek Gabriel and DPW contractor Marco St. Croix Inc. visited Frederiksted town to discuss preparations for the reconstruction and repaving of King Street, Queen Street, Strand Street and portions of Fisher Street.

The project is expected to begin in the coming days and will include milling, roadway reconstruction and paving to create safer, smoother and more reliable streets for residents, businesses and visitors.

The work will also address the temporary bridge on King Street, just north of the Midre Cummings Recreational and Youth Facility.
This final phase of Frederiksted town road improvements is part of the Bryan-Roach Administration’s broader effort to strengthen historic towns, improve infrastructure and support continued revitalization.

Motorists should expect temporary traffic changes and are urged to follow posted signs, obey flaggers and use caution in active work zones.
