St. Croix Central High School Welcome to the official St. Croix Central High School page. Home of the Caribs! Knowledge is Power! The original building in Christiansted is now the V.I. Croix.

Central High opened in 1967 as a successor to Christiansted High School which was established in 1935. Department of Education Building, St. Croix District. In 1968, the school held its first graduation ceremony of which one hundred fifty seniors received their diplomas. Central High is located near the Queen Mary Highway, the facility encompasses forty-two acres with thirteen buildings. It is also located near the Kingshill Cemetery. Central High School is also home to the Ronald Charles Gymnasium which is the largest indoor sports venue on the island of St. The gymnasium is used to play its basketball games, its volleyball games, school activities, assemblies, seminars, and has even hosted an ice show.

SHS Hispanic Heritage Activity Alfredo Andrews School-October 8, 2026

The Spanish Honor Society (SHS), Chapter Zona de Español, of St. Croix Central High School visited the Alfredo Andrews Elementary School, on October 8, 2026. they had the opportunity to share an enriching cultural experience with their fourth, fifth, and sixth-grade students.

The SHS members spoke about the importance of Hispanic Heritage by sharing information about the culture, traditions, and customs of different Hispanic countries. They also facilitated a variety of arts and crafts activities that allowed the elementary students to explore and appreciate Hispanic culture through creativity, hands-on learning, and meaningful interaction.

This experience was an excellent academic and cultural opportunity for our Spanish Honor Society members. It allowed them to share their knowledge, strengthen their communication and leadership skills, interact with younger students, and develop valuable competencies in the liberal arts through cultural education and artistic expression. At the same time, the elementary students had the opportunity to expand their cultural awareness and learn about the richness and diversity of the Hispanic world in an engaging and enjoyable environment. Dr. Annette Garcia, SHS Advisor, expresses her admiration and sincere appreciation for the excellent work demonstrated by the members of the Spanish Honor Society (SHS) during their visit to Alfredo Andrews Elementary School. She proudly recognizes their dedication, enthusiasm, and commitment to sharing Hispanic culture with the students, faculty, and administration. Their outstanding efforts made this cultural outreach activity a meaningful and enriching experience for everyone involved.

A heartfelt thank-you to the CHS Social Studies Department for organizing the Gubernatorial and Senatorial Forum at St. Croix Central High School! Special thanks to Ms. Hansen and Ms. Williams (proud members of SPARK) for including SPARK and giving our students a platform to share their voices. Our students represented us with confidence and purpose, and we could not be prouder! ❤️💛

💃🏽🎶 Culture, rhythm, and Carib pride!

Our Hispanic Heritage Month Block Party brought our CHS community together to celebrate the rich cultures and traditions that make us stronger. The “Baila With Me” competition added a fun opportunity to show off dance moves, cheer each other on, and connect through music! 🔥

What a fabulous way to close out Hispanic Heritage Month and Virgin Islands-Puerto Rico Friendship weekend! 🪇🥁💃🏽🇻🇮 🇵🇷

Many thanks to Ms. Eli Torres and Mrs. King Chaseau for organizing the Hispanic Heritage & VI-PR Block Party! A big shout out to our special guests, Doña Vargas and Doña Mirza Saldaña for their amazing display of cultural artifacts representing various countries and territories, including Mexico, Ecuador, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.

Our amazing faculty, staff, SPARK team, Class of 2028, Art teacher Ms. Lang, and students who jumped right in to set up & decorate, organize cultural displays, food sample stations, games, and educational stations. Our hats are off to the Culinary class led by Ms. Camisha Lynch.

Thank you to everyone who who participated, helped to set up and break down, including Dean Croskey who is always there to lend a hand.! 🥘 🧁
