𝗙𝗔𝗠𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗣 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗧𝗢 𝗦𝗥𝗜 𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗞𝗔

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Ha Noi, with the assistance of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, successfully organized a Familiarization (FAM) Tour to Sri Lanka from 10-18 May for 5 leading tour operators and 3 prominent travel bloggers and media influencers from Viet Nam. The program was sponsored by the SLTPB while local hospitality arrangements were facilitated by Andrew – The Travel Company.

The tour offered participants a firsthand experience of Sri Lanka’s breathtaking landscapes, rich cultural heritage, renowned hospitality, wildlife, and diverse tourism experiences. Organized to further strengthen tourism cooperation and promote Sri Lanka within the Vietnamese market, the program featured visits to iconic destinations including Anuradhapura, Sigiriya, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Yala, and Colombo.

During the visit, the delegation explored UNESCO World Heritage sites, experienced Sri Lanka’s famous Ceylon Tea culture, enjoyed the scenic beauty of the hill country, and took part in a wildlife safari at Yala National Park. Participants also conducted hotel inspections at several leading hospitality properties, gaining valuable insights into Sri Lanka’s tourism infrastructure and travel experiences suitable for Vietnamese travelers.

The FAM Tour served as an important platform to enhance tourism partnerships and people-to-people connectivity between Sri Lanka and Viet Nam. Participating tour operators and influencers expressed strong appreciation for Sri Lanka’s cultural richness, scenic diversity, and growing potential for future tourism collaboration and destination promotion initiatives.

The Embassy remains committed to working closely with tourism authorities, travel industry stakeholders, and media partners to enhance mutual understanding, increase tourism exchanges, and promote Sri Lanka as a diverse, safe, and welcoming destination for Vietnamese travelers.

Joined the official welcome ceremony held this morning (08) at the Presidential Secretariat in honour of the President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, H.E. Tô Lâm, who is currently undertaking a state visit to Sri Lanka.

The visit is particularly significant as it marks the first visit to Sri Lanka by a Vietnamese President in 15 years. The ceremonial welcome was conducted with great warmth and dignity, symbolising the longstanding friendship and 56 years of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Viet Nam.

Taking place at a time when Sri Lanka is steadily progressing towards economic stability under the present Government, the visit of the Vietnamese President is expected to open a new chapter in Sri Lanka–Viet Nam economic, cultural and social relations.

Sáng ngày 08/05, Lễ đón chính thức dành cho Tổng Bí thư Ban Chấp hành Trung ương Đảng Cộng sản Việt Nam, Chủ tịch nước Cộng hòa Xã hội Chủ nghĩa Việt Nam, Ngài Tô Lâm, nhân chuyến thăm cấp Nhà nước tới Sri Lanka, đã được tổ chức tại Phủ Tổng thống.

Đây là chuyến thăm có ý nghĩa đặc biệt khi đánh dấu lần đầu tiên sau 15 năm một Chủ tịch nước Việt Nam thăm Sri Lanka. Lễ đón được tổ chức trọng thể và nồng nhiệt, thể hiện tình hữu nghị lâu đời cùng 56 năm quan hệ ngoại giao giữa Sri Lanka và Việt Nam.

Diễn ra trong bối cảnh Sri Lanka đang từng bước phục hồi và ổn định kinh tế dưới sự lãnh đạo của Chính phủ hiện nay, chuyến thăm của Chủ tịch nước Việt Nam được kỳ vọng sẽ mở ra giai đoạn hợp tác mới giữa hai nước trên các lĩnh vực kinh tế, văn hóa và xã hội.

In light of the current geopolitical uncertainties, it has been decided that Sri Lanka Expo 2026 will be reschedule to the first quarter of 2027.

📅 The event is now planned to take place from 𝟏𝟒–𝟏𝟕 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟕.

All preparations and arrangements related to the planning, organization, and implementation of the Expo will continue as scheduled to ensure a successful event.
