The Honorary Consulate of the Kingdom of Morocco in Ho Chi Minh City is pleased to share the official announcement from the Embassy of Morocco in Vietnam regarding the reaffirmation by the United States of America of the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Morocco over the Moroccan Sahara.

This recognition, originally conveyed by former U.S. President Donald Trump to His Majesty King Mohammed VI—may God assist Him—has been reaffirmed today by the U.S. government, further strengthening the longstanding strategic partnership between our two nations.

🇲🇦🇻🇳🤝 Strengthening Parliamentary Ties Between Morocco and Vietnam 🇻🇳🇲🇦

On Friday, July 25, 2025, at the headquarters of the House of Representatives in Rabat, a high-level bilateral meeting was held between:

🔹 H.E. Mr. Rachid Talbi Alami, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Kingdom of Morocco

🔹 H.E. Mr. Trần Thanh Mẫn, President of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam

This historic encounter culminated in the signing of a Cooperation Agreement between the two legislative bodies to deepen parliamentary diplomacy and promote mutual development.

📝 The agreement aims to:

Enhance legislative collaboration
Exchange parliamentary experiences and best practices
Support MP and staff capacity building through workshops, seminars, and training programs
Coordinate delegations at international and regional forum
The session was honored by the presence of:

✅ From Morocco: H.E. Ms. Labina Laghzaoui, President of the Morocco–Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group

Chairman of Vietnam's National Assembly Trần Thanh Mẫn Begins Historic Visit to the Kingdom of Morocco

The Office of the Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Morocco in Ho Chi Minh City proudly acknowledges the commencement of an official visit by Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam, H.E. Trần Thanh Mẫn, accompanied by his spouse, to the Kingdom of Morocco. This marks the first visit of its kind in six years, underscoring a renewed commitment to advancing the long-standing ties between Vietnam and Morocco.

Upon arrival in Rabat on July 24, the Vietnamese delegation was warmly welcomed by H.E. Rachid Talbi Alami, President of the Moroccan House of Representatives, along with H.E. Lê Kim Quy, Ambassador of Vietnam to Morocco.

🛤️ A Partnership with Historical Depth and Future Ambition
The Kingdom of Morocco and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam have shared diplomatic relations since 1961. These relations have been characterized by mutual respect and evolving cooperation across economic, parliamentary, and cultural spheres.

📊 Strengthening Bilateral Trade
In 2024, two-way trade reached over USD 302 million—a 28.5% increase year-on-year—highlighting dynamic economic growth.
- Vietnam’s key exports include electronics, coffee, and pepper.
- Morocco supplies Vietnam with electronic materials, fertilizers, and footwear.

The two nations are committed to elevating trade volume to USD 500 million in the near future, with targeted collaboration in investment, agriculture, tourism, and technological exchange.

🏛️ Parliamentary Collaboration
Vietnam and Morocco actively engage through international parliamentary forums such as the IPU and APF. The current visit includes strategic high-level meetings aimed at enhancing policy dialogue and interparliamentary cooperation.

🌍 Shared Heritage and Community Bonds
The Vietnamese-Moroccan community, dating back to the 1940s, remains an emblem of historical solidarity, particularly through connections to Moroccan volunteers during Vietnam’s anti-colonial resistance. Today, an estimated 300–400 Vietnamese and descendants reside in Morocco, representing a living bridge of friendship.

From the vantage point of the Honorary Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City, this visit reaffirms the shared vision between Morocco and Vietnam for a sustainable and inclusive partnership. It also signals a promising pathway for enhanced cooperation between Southeast Asia and Africa—regions that hold vast potential for mutual development.

Chủ tịch Quốc hội Trần Thanh Mẫn và Phu nhân bắt đầu thăm chính thức Morocco 🇲🇦

Quan hệ ngoại giao giữa Việt Nam và Morocco được thiết lập năm 1961. Tháng 2-2014, Morocco công nhận Việt Nam có nền kinh tế thị trường đầy đủ.

Kim ngạch thương mại song phương năm 2024 đạt trên 302 triệu USD, tăng 28,5% so với năm 2023. Trong đó Việt Nam xuất khẩu 275,95 triệu USD, chủ yếu là điện thoại và linh kiện điện thoại, hạt tiêu, cà phê. Còn Morocco xuất khẩu 26,52 triệu USD chủ yếu là máy vi tính và nguyên liệu điện tử, phân bón, da, giày.

Hợp tác giữa Quốc hội hai nước phát triển tốt đẹp. Hai bên duy trì tiếp xúc, tham vấn tại các diễn đàn như Liên minh nghị viện thế giới (IPU), Liên minh nghị viện Pháp ngữ (APF).

Cộng đồng người Việt tại Morocco được hình thành từ những năm 1940, đến nay có khoảng 300 - 400 người. Thành phần chủ yếu là gia đình của các cựu binh Morocco đã tham gia ủng hộ cuộc kháng chiến chống Pháp của nhân dân Việt Nam trước năm 1954, bên cạnh đó là một số người lao động, sinh viên du học.

Việc kỷ niệm Ngày Châu Phi tại Việt Nam hôm nay không chỉ là dịp để tưởng nhớ lịch sử và thành tựu chung giữa hai châu lục, mà còn là cơ hội đặc biệt để hình dung một tương lai mới tình hữu nghị và hợp tác giữa các quốc gia Châu Phi và Việt Nam ngày càng bền chặt.

Nhóm Đại sứ các nước Châu Phi đánh giá cao cam kết của Việt Nam trong việc thúc đẩy quan hệ đối tác toàn diện với các nước Châu Phi, thể hiện qua vai trò của Việt Nam với tư cách là quan sát viên chính thức của Liên minh Châu Phi, cũng như tầm nhìn chiến lược đặt Châu Phi ở vị trí trọng tâm trong chính sách đối ngoại của mình. Quan hệ hợp tác ngày càng mở rộng đã được thể hiện qua các chuyến thăm cấp cao thường xuyên và hợp tác trên nhiều lĩnh vực.

Việt Nam được các quốc gia Châu Phi xem như một điểm đến hấp dẫn để đầu tư và hội nhập, nhờ thành tựu ấn tượng mà Việt Nam đã đạt được trong các lĩnh vực như tăng trưởng kinh tế bền vững, phát triển nông nghiệp, và công nghiệp.

Trong những thập kỷ gần đây, có hai luồng nhận thức trái ngược về Châu Phi. Một là chủ nghĩa bi quan về Châu Phi – cho rằng Châu Phi không thể vận hành hiệu quả về chính trị, kinh tế hay xã hội. Quan điểm này chỉ chú trọng vào những thách thức của Châu Phi và phủ nhận con đường vươn lên của lục địa này.

Luồng tư tưởng còn lại – mà chúng tôi kiên định theo đuổi – là chủ nghĩa lạc quan về Châu Phi, mang đến một tầm nhìn hy vọng và hướng về tương lai.

Là người Châu Phi, chúng tôi tin tưởng mạnh mẽ rằng chúng tôi đang sống trong một thế kỷ chuyển mình của lục địa. Chúng tôi tin vào tiềm năng, thế mạnh, cơ hội, và tinh thần đoàn kết sáng tạo của chúng tôi.

Nhận lời mời trân trọng từ Ngài Jamale Chouaibi – Đại sứ Vương quốc Ma Rốc tại Việt Nam, kiêm Trưởng Nhóm Đại sứ các nước Châu Phi tại Việt Nam – Văn phòng Lãnh sự Danh dự Ma Rốc tại TP. Hồ Chí Minh đã vinh dự tham dự Lễ kỷ niệm Ngày Châu Phi 2025 được tổ chức tại Hà Nội vào ngày 23 tháng 5 năm 2025.

Sự kiện năm nay mang chủ đề: Công lý cho người Châu Phi và người gốc Châu Phi thông qua công lý bồi thường”, nhằm tôn vinh tinh thần đoàn kết, khát vọng công bằng và sự chuyển mình mạnh mẽ của lục địa Châu Phi trong thế kỷ 21.

Buổi lễ có sự tham gia của đại diện Bộ Ngoại giao Việt Nam, các đại sứ quán Châu Phi tại Hà Nội, cùng đông đảo khách mời trong và ngoài nước. Đặc biệt, tiệc chiêu đãi tại khách sạn Melia Hanoi đã giới thiệu các món ăn truyền thống đặc sắc do tám đại sứ quán Châu Phi phối hợp thực hiện.
Các nội dung nổi bật của sự kiện bao gồm:

🔹 Tôn vinh công lý và sự công bằng: Chủ đề năm nay nhấn mạnh tầm quan trọng của việc khắc phục các bất công lịch sử và thúc đẩy quyền lợi cho người Châu Phi và người gốc Châu Phi trên toàn cầu.

🔹 Châu Phi – Lục địa đang chuyển mình: Đại sứ Jamale Chouaibi khẳng định Châu Phi đang vươn lên mạnh mẽ, trở thành trung tâm tăng trưởng mới với tiềm năng hợp tác sâu rộng cùng các đối tác quốc tế, trong đó có Việt Nam.

🔹 Thắt chặt quan hệ Việt Nam – Châu Phi: Sự kiện là dịp để củng cố mối quan hệ hữu nghị giữa Việt Nam và các quốc gia Châu Phi, đặc biệt là Ma Rốc, đồng thời mở ra cơ hội hợp tác trong các lĩnh vực như an ninh lương thực, y tế, năng lượng tái tạo và ngành công nghiệp Halal.

Văn phòng Lãnh sự Danh dự Ma Rốc tại TP. Hồ Chí Minh cam kết tiếp tục đồng hành cùng Đại sứ quán Ma Rốc và các đối tác Việt Nam trong việc thúc đẩy giao lưu, hợp tác và hiểu biết lẫn nhau giữa hai quốc gia.

Africa Day, observed annually on May 25th, was celebrated in Hanoi, Vietnam in 2025, with a focus on the theme "Justice for Africans and people of African descent through reparatory justice."

The Moroccan Ambassador to Vietnam, Jamale Chouaibi, who also serves as the Dean of the African Group of Ambassadors in Vietnam, played a key role in the celebrations.

The event highlighted the ongoing transformation and development of Africa, emphasizing its potential for sustainable growth and cooperation with partners like Vietnam.

Key aspects of the celebration:

Focus on Justice and Reparations:
The theme of "Justice for Africans and people of African descent through reparatory justice" underscored the importance of addressing historical injustices and promoting equity for African communities.

African Transformation:
Ambassador Chouaibi emphasized Africa's ongoing transformation, highlighting its potential as a growth powerhouse and its active cooperation with international partners.

Vietnam-Africa Cooperation:
The event celebrated the strong relationship between Vietnam and African countries, particularly Morocco, and explored opportunities for further collaboration in areas like food security, health, and energy.

Moroccan Ambassador's Role:
Ambassador Jamale Chouaibi, as the Dean of the African Group of Ambassadors, played a central role in organizing and leading the celebrations in Hanoi.

Bilateral Relations:
