The AEC stands for the ASEAN Economic Community. This is a single market made up of 10 nations in Southeast Asia, which includes Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, The Philippines, Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam. The goal of establishing the AEC is to transform the region into an integrated market for goods and services. Under the AEC structure, there are free flows of products, services, investments, and skilled labor. Since the ten countries in ASEAN have a total of 600 million consumers, this is a combined market with great potential. The AEC Business Support Center was established in May 2013 by the Department of International Trade Promotion or the DITP. This is one of the proactive measures taken by the Ministry of Commerce in preparation for the AEC, which will be implemented in 2015. Our objectives are to provide in-depth information, networking, and other services for Thai companies, who wish to do business or invest in ASEAN countries. Moreover, our Center offers sourcing information and business matching opportunities for both Thai and ASEAN importers. DITP's offices are located in every ASEAN member nation, with the exception of Brunei. Accordingly, we have offices in the following countries: Cambodia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Laos, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore and the Philippines. Services
