At 2:30 PM today (27/03/2026), a key coordination meeting was held at the SDO (Civil) Office, Salbari, to prepare for the upcoming 41-Manas LAC elections. The session, centered on the vital role of Gaon Pradhans and Village Defence Party (VDP) members, was chaired by Shri Rituttam Bora, ACS, ADC cm SDO (C) and Returning Officer,41 Manas LAC alongside Assistant Commissioner Shri Anupam Das, ACS, the SDPO Salbari, Circle Officers of Jalah and Barnagar revenue circle and the OCs of Salbari and Gobardhana Police Stations, police officials, Gaon Pradhans and members of Village Defence party.
Shri Rituttam Bora,ACS opened the meeting with a warm welcome and highlighted the main objectives of the meeting, focusing on ensuring a free, fair, and peaceful election.The meeting proceeded with a PowerPoint presentation by Shri Anupam Das, ACS regarding the duties and responsibilities of Gaon Pradhan and VDPs. To ensure safety on the ground, the SDPO Salbari briefed the team on essential security protocols. Finally, the CO of Jalah Revenue Circle shared insights from his previous election experiences, making a sincere appeal to the Gaon Pradhans and VDP members to act as a reliable bridge between the administration and the public. The meeting concluded with a summary of key points by Shri Rituttam Borah, ACS, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by him, expressing gratitude to all participants for their cooperation and commitment.

On 05/03/2026 and 06/03/2026, Manas Jyoti Malakar, ACS and Anupam Das, ACS, Assistant Commissioners, Salbari, conducted field visits to several polling stations under 41 Manas Legislative Assembly Constituency.

During the visit, they inspected the polling stations to verify the availability of Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) to ensure the smooth and efficient conduct of the upcoming Assam Legislative Assembly Election.

On behalf of Salbari civil administration, Shri Anupam Das, Assistant Commissioner, Salbari, attended the District Level Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2026 organized at Salbari College, Baksa on 27/02/26. The programme was ceremonially inaugurated by lighting the traditional lamp.
Addressing the enthusiastic participants, he encouraged the youth to take the event seriously and actively engage in meaningful discussions. The Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament play a vital role in nurturing democratic values, leadership qualities, and a spirit of responsible citizenship among young minds.
He also urged the students to use this opportunity to understand parliamentary practices, develop informed opinions, and contribute towards the vision of building a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) through active participation in democratic processes.
The event witnessed vibrant participation from students coming from different colleges, reflecting the growing awareness and commitment of the youth towards nation-building and democratic dialogue.

As part of the preparations for the upcoming election, and under the aegis of the District Administration, Baksa, a Mobile Demonstration Van along with an EVM Demonstration Unit was formally launched at the office premises of the SDO (Civil) as part of the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme. The initiative has been undertaken with the objective of creating widespread awareness among the general public regarding the usage and functioning of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), while also sensitising citizens about their democratic rights, duties, and the importance of informed and active participation in the electoral process.
The Mobile Demonstration Van and EVM Demonstration Unit were flagged off by the SDO (Civil) in the presence of Assistant Commissioners, officials of the sub divisional administration, and a large number of young and first-time voters of the 41 Manas Legislative Assembly Constituency. Through this initiative, voters will be provided hands-on experience and practical demonstrations to familiarise them with the voting procedure, thereby addressing doubts, dispelling misconceptions, and building confidence among voters.
The programme aims to encourage greater voter turnout and strengthen democratic values by ensuring inclusive participation of all sections of society, especially youth and new voters actively engaging with the electorate through awareness-driven initiatives under SVEEP.

On 7th February 2026, an awareness meeting on Child Marriage, Child Sexual Abuse, and other child protection–related issues was held at Salbari College under Xurash*ta Shaishab Sunali Axom, a 90-day campaign on child protection.
The programme was organised by the District Child Protection Unit, Baksa, in collaboration with the Salbari Sub-Divisional Administration.
The meeting was attended by Addl. District Commissioner-cum-I/C SDO, Salbari, Baksa, Shri Rituttom Borah, LADC Anupjyoti Das (DLSA, Baksa), Dr. Swngkhang Basumatary, District Coordinator, DHEW Baksa, along with Lat Mandals, religious leaders, and student representatives from NSS, NCC, and NYK.
As part of the awareness drive, street plays on child protection issues were performed at various prominent locations in Salbari as well as in the Barimukh market area under Baksa District, to sensitize the general public

On 02/02/2026, the Jalah Revenue Circle Emergency Management Exercise (RC-EMEx 2025–26) was inaugurated at Salbari College.
The exercise was organised by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Baksa, in collaboration with the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA). The programme was inaugurated by the ADC-cum-SDO (Civil) in the presence of the Circle Officer, Jalah Revenue Circle; SDPO, Salbari; District Project Officer, DDMA (Baksa & Bongaigaon); Principal, Salbari College; and resource persons from PHE, Social Welfare Department, and Fire & Emergency Services.
Participants of the programme included Lot Mandals (LRAs), Gaon Pradhans, and representatives from various line departments.
During the inaugural session, the ADC-cum-SDO (Civil) highlighted the crucial role of such exercises in strengthening disaster preparedness, coordination, and response capacity among all stakeholders at the grassroots level.

In view of the ensuing Higher Secondary (HS) and High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examinations, 2026, the District Administration of Baksa has imposed prohibitory restrictions across the district to ensure a peaceful environment and the smooth conduct of the examinations.

As per an order issued by the District Magistrate, Shri Gautam Das, ACS, the examinations will be held from 10 February to 16 March 2026. The restrictions have been enforced apprehending disturbance to the study atmosphere of students due to noise pollution and possible disruption of law and order during the examination period.

The order, promulgated under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), prohibits the use of loudspeakers and microphones without prior permission, their use during night hours and examination hours, and the assembly of unauthorized persons or unnecessary crowding within a 100-metre radius of examination centres. It also strictly bars examinees from carrying mobile phones, electronic devices, or any unauthorized or suspicious objects inside the examination halls.

The Government of Assam today ceremonially launched the Mukhyamantri Eti Koli Duti Paat Scheme through a centrally held State-level programme at Doomdoma. The programme was graced by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, and aimed at the welfare of tea garden workers (Cha Shramiks) across the State.
The State-level programme was live-streamed at Fatehmabad Tea Estate LP School under Manas LAC.
At Fatehmabad Tea Estate, the programme was attended by Shri Phanidhar Talukdar, Hon’ble MLA, Bhawanipur; Smt. Akhtara Ahmed, EM (PHE), BTC; Shri Rituttam Bora, ACS, ADC & In-charge SDO (Civil), Salbari; and Shri Subhash Tirkey, Vice Chairman, Adivasi Welfare Development Council, along with other officials.
The programme was followed by the ceremonial distribution of cheques to the beneficiaries under the scheme. A total of 818 beneficiaries from Fatehmabad Tea Estate under Manas LAC received financial assistance of ₹5,000 per beneficiary, which was provided through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode.

In light of the upcoming Republic Day celebrations, a bike rally was conducted from Salbari to Namlang, near the Bhutan border. The rally was jointly organized by the Salbari Police Administration, SSB, and the Salbari Civil Administration with the objective of creating awareness among the public about constitutional rights and republican values. The rally witnessed active participation and was attended by Shri Rituttam Bora, ACS,ADC& I/C SDO(Civil) Salbari, and Shri Debasish Kayastha,APS, SDPO, Salbari, along with officials and personnel from the participating departments.
