MONDAY, SEPT 14 6PM ROANE COUNTY COURTHOUSE 2ND FLOOR
It has come to our attention that tomorrow night at our County Commissioner meeting that there is a chance that they are going to try to oust our commissioner chair Shannon Hester and replace him with the County Executive as the head of the county commission. This move will consolidate power down to the County Executive and act as a rubber stamp for his growth agenda. This comes on the heels of the county commission slapping down the planning boards illegal moves to allow Row houses in Roane County. The County Executive would set the agenda and have unchecked power consolidated down to one person here. as a Republican. We stand for limited government, and this move is the opposite. I will be there tomorrow at 6:00 at the courthouse to object to this power grab. We asked that everyone please show up tomorrow to make your voice heard in opposition. This is the only way we will save the county commission and the County Executive merging together as one.
