🎀 𝐁𝐄𝐘𝐎𝐍𝐃 𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐊: 𝐊𝐍𝐎𝐖 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐁𝐎𝐃𝐘. 𝐓𝐀𝐊𝐄 𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍.

Breast cancer awareness is more than wearing pink. It means understanding your breast health, knowing what is normal for you, and recognizing changes that need medical attention.

🌸 KNOW your breasts and be familiar with their usual appearance and feel.
🔎 NOTICE changes such as a new lump or thickening, swelling, skin dimpling or irritation, ni**le inversion or unusual discharge, or a persistent change in breast size or shape.
💗 ACT by consulting a healthcare professional promptly if you notice a new or unusual change. Do not wait for pain or other symptoms to appear.

Regular breast health awareness is important, but not every breast change means cancer. A healthcare professional can determine whether further examination or testing is needed.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, let pink be more than a symbol. Let it be a reminder to know your body, recognize changes, and seek appropriate medical care when needed.

Know your body. Notice the changes. Take action for your health. 🎀

The Coast Guard District Southern Mindanao (CGDSM) participated in the Associated Philippine Seafarers Union (APSU) - Associated Labor Unions (ALU) - Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP), Nagkahiusa Kaming Mananagat sa Linao Association (NKMLA) and Asnalang 6 Fisherfolk Association (ASFA) Integrated Outreach Program and Multi-Stakeholder Partnership Forum at Maasim Public Gymnasium, Maasim, Sarangani Province, today, September 14, 2026.

Held in support of Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANAMO) 2026, the activity provided an opportunity for CGDSM to bring essential healthcare and legal services closer to the local fishing community.

Through the Coast Guard Dental Station Southern Mindanao (CGDENS-SM), Coast Guard MedStation Southern Mindanao (CGMEDS-SM), Coast Guard Nursing Service Sub-Unit Southern Mindanao (CGNSSU-SM), and Coast Guard Legal Unit-Southern Mindanao (CGLU-SM), the said district provided free services to local fisherfolk, including 47 dental procedures, medical assistance to 165 individuals, and legal counseling to five fisherfolk.

The initiative reflects CGDSM’s continuing commitment to promoting the welfare of the maritime community by making essential healthcare and legal services more accessible to fisherfolk and strengthening its partnership with local stakeholders through sustained community engagement and public service.
