YOUR VOICE. YOUR VOTE. YOUR FUTURE.
As Chair of the Delaware Hispanic Commission, I want to encourage every eligible voter across Delaware to participate in this election and make their voices heard.
Our vote is one of the most powerful tools we have to shape the future of our communities. It gives us the opportunity to influence the decisions that affect our families, our neighborhoods, our children's education, our economic opportunities, and the future generations who will follow us.
For far too long, many voices have gone unheard. We must recognize that civic participation is essential to building stronger, more inclusive communities where everyone's perspectives and contributions matter.
Regardless of your background, your circumstances, or who you choose to support, your voice matters, your participation matters, and your vote matters.
I encourage you not to take this opportunity for granted. Be informed, exercise your right to vote, and encourage your family, friends, and neighbors to do the same.
Our democracy is stronger when we all participate. Make your voice heard. Go out and vote!
Together We Are Stronger.
Juntos Somos Fuertes.

In Loving Memory of Commissioner Jack Sanders

On behalf of the Delaware Hispanic Commission, we extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Commissioner Jack Sanders on the morning of his passing.

Jack was appointed to the Delaware Hispanic Commission in 2017, dedicating his time, leadership, and commitment to strengthening our communities. During his tenure, he served as Chairman of the Housing Subcommittee, contributing his knowledge and passion to initiatives that supported housing and community development.

Beyond his service to the Commission, Jack devoted himself to making a difference in the lives of others through Scouting, youth sports, youth ministry, and nonprofit housing and renovation initiatives. His commitment to service reflected a genuine desire to help others and build stronger communities.

Above all, Jack cherished his family and found great joy in the company of dear friends. His passing is a tremendous loss to all who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside him.

We are deeply grateful for his years of service, his dedication to our mission, and the lasting contributions he made to the Delaware Hispanic Commission and the communities he served.

May his legacy of service, generosity, and compassion continue to inspire us. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.

May he rest in peace.

On behalf of the Delaware Hispanic Commission,

Carlos de los Ramos
Chair, Delaware Hispanic Commission

What a weekend! What a celebration of our Latino culture!
Delaware Hispanic Commission Chair Carlos de los Ramos had the honor of joining community leaders and families across Delaware and Philadelphia to celebrate the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month with a weekend filled with culture, music, history, and community pride.
The celebration began with the Hispanic Heritage Month Proclamation at the Latin American Community Center, followed by an incredible concert and festival at the Delaware Art Museum, organized by Nuestras Raíces and featuring the amazing Frankie Negrón. Carlos was honored to present recognition to María Pérez, India Colón, and the incredible Nuestras Raíces team for their dedication and contributions to our community.
Sunday continued with the Hispanic Parade through downtown Wilmington, where Carlos joined local leaders and community members in celebrating 50 years of Hispanic festival tradition in Delaware.
The weekend concluded in Philadelphia, where Carlos joined Mexican Consul Carlos Obrador Garrido and members of the Mexican community to celebrate Mexican Independence Day.
What a weekend! What a celebration of our heritage, our history, and the vibrant contributions of Latino communities!
Together, we are stronger. ¡Juntos somos fuertes!
