School buses will soon be hitting the roads for afternoon dismissal, and we want to remind drivers to slow down, stay alert, and STOP for our kids!
REMEMBER: On a two-lane road, traffic traveling in BOTH directions must stop when a school bus is stopped with its red lights flashing and stop arm extended.

Failing to stop could cost you $371 and 4 points on your license. But the real cost could be far greater.

Put the distractions away, watch for children, and give our school buses the space they need to get students home safely.

A few seconds of patience could save a child's life.

On Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at approximately 9:36 p.m., PBSO Communications received a call stating that a family member was threatening to take his own life.

At approximately 9:55 p.m., deputies located the armed/suicidal male, later identified as Joshua Senfeld, 30 years of age in a shopping plaza which still had commercial business open. Deputies immediately initiated communication with Senfeld in an effort to peacefully resolve the situation. These efforts continued for more than an hour.

During the course of the encounter, Senfeld brandished a fi***rm in the direction of deputies, at which time deputies discharged their fi***rms, striking Senfeld. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
This investigation remains active and ongoing. All deputies involved have been placed on administrative leave which is standard agency protocol.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), the Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office, and PBSO’s Violent Crimes Division are actively investigating the incident.

BUSTED! 🚨 These scammers targeted the WRONG person: a veteran PBSO detective.

On October 27, two suspects, identified as Levi Cantarero and Shawn Hamilton, posed as bank employees and attempted to convince a PBSO detective to withdraw thousands of dollars from his checking account.

Recognizing the scam, the detective, with assistance from fellow detectives, continued communicating with the suspects as part of an investigation.

The suspects instructed the detective to arrange for an Uber driver to transport what they believed was the victim’s money to Broward County. The driver was directed to leave the package beneath a parked vehicle.

When the suspects arrived to retrieve the package, PBSO detectives and agents, with assistance from the Broward Sheriff’s Office, moved in and took both suspects into custody.

Unfortunately, scams like these happen far too often, and not every victim is as fortunate.

⚠️ REMINDER: Never share personal or banking information with unverified callers. Be cautious of anyone pressuring you to withdraw or transfer money. When something doesn’t feel right, stop, verify and report it.

Stay alert, Palm Beach County! 🚔

Why do we attend community events? 🚔

Our presence at events like this one helps with crowd control, public safety, and providing assistance when needed. It’s also a great opportunity to connect with residents, answer questions, and build relationships beyond emergency calls.

Thank you to Parrianna Precious Hands and the Town of Mangonia Park for bringing our community together and allowing us to be part of their event! 🙏🚔🚨

It’s raining all week, and yes, we’re still out here. We’d just prefer not to meet you at a crash scene. When driving in the rain, remember. 👇

🌧️ Slow down. Wet roads are slippery.
🚗 Keep your distance. Stopping takes longer.
💡 Turn on your headlights.
🚫 Avoid sudden braking and flooded roads.

Rain or shine, we’re on duty. Just don’t give us extra work! 😏🚔

Residents please use caution and seek another route.

The Town is currently experiencing impacts from king tides, coastal flooding, and high winds, creating hazardous conditions throughout the area, particularly during periods of high tide when water levels are at their highest.

A-1-A at the Ocean Avenue Bridge is currently closed due to major flooding. Road conditions may change rapidly as water levels and weather conditions fluctuate throughout the day.

For your safety:

⚠️ Do not drive through floodwaters.
⚠️ Use extra caution when traveling.
⚠️ Avoid unnecessary travel unless absolutely needed.
⚠️ Be alert for road closures, standing water, debris, and wind-related hazards.
