Davao Occidental Davao Occidental is the 81st province of the Philippines. Located at the Southwest portion of Davao region, with Malita as its capital town.

Davao Gulf is at its eastern portion while sharing maritime border of Indonesia’s North Sulawesi
to the south.

PROVINCE OF DAVAO OCCIDENTAL PARTICIPATES IN THE 2ND REGIONAL IPMR SUMMIT 2026
The IPMRs together with their Indigenous Political Structure (IPS) of the Province of Davao Occidental proudly participates in the 2nd Regional Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representative (IPMR) Summit 2026, held on October 6–8, 2026 at the Grand Regal Hotel, Lanang, Davao City.
With the theme, “Empowering IPMRs as Strategic Partners of IPs in Advancing Self-Governance, Inclusive Development, and Sustainable IP Economy,” the summit provides a platform for IPMRs in Davao Region to share accomplishments, good practices and initiatives that promote the rights, welfare and development of Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs).
As part of the activity, the IPMR delegates from the Province of Davao Occidental presented their notable accomplishments, including sponsored and approved ordinances and the annual budget allocation of the Local Government Unit (LGU) for ICCs/IPs.
These accomplishments shows the Province’s continuing support to meaningful IP participation in local governance, inclusive development, cultural preservation and the advancement of the rights and welfare of ICCs/IPs.

Department Heads of the Provincial Local Government Unit of Davao Occidental convened on October 6, 2026, for an events planning and coordination meeting in preparation for the 2026 Araw ng Davao Occidental celebration.

It was said that this year’s celebration will be a humble one, in solidarity with the challenges faced by the province during the second quarter of the year. Despite these challenges, the Department Heads, together with the Provincial Officials, emphasized the importance of commemorating the province’s milestones and achievements since its founding.
