This week, White Watch spent time with the Loch Lomond Rescue Boat crew — a group of volunteers who quietly carry an enormous responsibility for the safety of everyone who visits the loch.
Meeting them, seeing their equipment, and understanding how they operate reminded us just how vital they are to our shared community.
Loch Lomond Rescue Boat is one of the busiest rescue teams in Scotland, yet it runs entirely on volunteer dedication and public generosity.
No government funding. No guaranteed support. Just a team of 20 highly trained individuals who give their time, their skills, and their commitment — every single day of the year — to help people in their moment of greatest need.
Their first aid training is exceptional, their professionalism is outstanding, and their passion for protecting the loch and everyone on it is unmistakable. We work alongside them at many incidents throughout the year, and their contribution genuinely saves lives.
If you’ve ever enjoyed Loch Lomond — walked its shores, sailed its waters, camped, swam, or simply admired the view — this crew is part of what keeps it safe for all of us.
They rely entirely on donations to stay operational, and every contribution, big or small, helps keep this incredible service running.
If you’re able, please consider supporting them through their JustGiving page:
