The First 100 Yards

While the 1st Space Brigade squad, representing at the U.S. Army Best Squad Competition this week, hails from a brigade of space operators and technical experts, the competition proves they are Soldiers first.

In space or in the sand, they are prepared to fight anywhere, any time.

Three Soldiers from the 108th Air Defense Artillery Brigade recently put their skills, endurance and determination to the test while competing in the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge. SSG Leduar Diaz earned the Silver Badge while SSG Bryce-Allen Royes and PV2 Madeline Davis earned the Bronze Badge.

The GAFPB challenges participants across a variety of physical and military events, including sprints, chin-up holds, a 1000-meter run, a 100-meter swim, pistol qualification, and a multi-distance ruck. These events test fitness, marksmanship and overall Soldier proficiency.

Congratulations to our three competitors, who represent the dedication, readiness and professionalism of the 108th ADA BDE.
