The Pointsman Association

On May 26th in Moncton New Brunswick, Rick DeGruyle attended "the Guess Who Takin' It Back Tour, concert at the Avenir Centre. As a VIP, and Rick was destined to meet Canadian Rock Legends Burton Cummings, and Randy Bachman and have them sign another Legendary Pointsman Flag. Their signatures join other Entertainers, Politicians, Sports and Military personnel and proudly hang this upcoming November in the CFMPA. It will be one of three Pointsman Flags with signatures on Display on certain Bases.

On May 26th the CFMPA held a Special Parade in the Academy to Honour some Students and some Staff with Promotions, Honouring Students from Rooker's Platoon who past their P.O.s (in Platoon 2601) with their Red Beret, and Badges. Both MPOC and TQ3 courses stood as Honour Guards. Pictures by Mentor Norm Rooker.

From CFMPA Orders...
"CFMPA will parade for the occasion of a Red Beret, Badging, Promotion at the CFMPA Theatre, CFB Borden, with all CFMPA staff requested to attend. This ceremony is conducted for a limited number of candidates graduating ahead of the main serial, requiring a standalone event."

The ceremony will proceed as follows:
1. Arrival of Reviewing Officer.
2. Opening Remarks.
3. Command Team Commendations.
4. CD and CD Clasp Presentations.
5. Promotions (Students followed by Staff).
6. Red Beret Presentation (MPJPC).
7. MP Badge and Credentials Presentation.
8. Commissioning Scroll Presentation (MPOC).
9. Reviewing Officer Remarks.
10. Closing Remarks.
11. Departure of Reviewing Officer.

From Doc Aldridge
On May 6th, as a Mentor for Doc's Platoon Course 2601, I was invited by the Troops to attend a Training Company Mess Dinner put on by the Warrant and Sgt Course happening at the Academy. Normally Civilians haven't attended for years (Not the Academy's Choice if you ask the Commandant). Anyways, these pics were of the Cocktail and Meet and Greet. No pics from the actual dinner, but their maybe some soon. You might note a few differences and I will let you nicely comment.

Ontario Police Memorial ceremony was attended today by CFPM Team, CFMPA and 2 MP Regiment.
