Our health workers are doing their absolute best, but Tasmania’s health system is under enormous pressure.

Over the last 7 days, an average of less than 27% of emergency patients at the Royal Hobart Hospital were seen within clinically recommended timeframes.

Nearly 100,000 Tasmanians are also on health waiting lists, yet Premier Rockliff has put Eric Abetz in charge of cutting $700 million from health.

Tasmanians are already waiting far too long for care, and these cuts will only make things worse.

Imagine renting an entire arena for less than what a family pays to rent a home in Glenorchy.

That’s the deal the Liberals have given billionaire Larry Kestelman!

A hidden $175,000 cashback deal means taxpayers are effectively handing a billionaire $10 million over the life of the lease.

While Tasmanians are struggling with the cost of living, the Liberals are letting a billionaire rent one of our biggest venues for next to nothing.

Close to 100,000 Tasmanians are waiting for health care.

That's roughly one in every six people in our state.

Waiting lists have grown by 10 per cent in just one year, yet Premier Rockliff has put Eric Abetz in charge of cutting $700 million from health while patients are already waiting far too long for treatment.

Our hardworking health professionals are doing everything they can, but they need more support, not more cuts.

The Liberals’ redundancy payment stuff-up could go back more than a decade.

Workers who took redundancies could be hit with unexpected tax bills, while taxpayers could be left paying a hefty fine from the Tax Office.

Premier Rockliff and Eric Abetz need to come clean about how long this has been going on, how many workers are affected and what it could cost Tasmanians.

After 13 years of Liberal waste, Tasmanians could be left picking up the bill once again.

A brand new $20 million prison kitchen, sitting unused while more than 250,000 meals are shipped into Risdon Prison from interstate.

Deputy Premier Guy Barnett said the kitchen would be fixed in three to four weeks.

Three months later, it’s still out of action, around 3,000 meals are being brought in every day and more than $1 million has already been spent on emergency catering.

It’s another costly mess to add to 13 years of Liberal waste.

Over six months of delays and uncertainty, hundreds of jobs on the chopping block, and now the Liberals have even bungled the tax on redundancy payouts.

So much for workers being “involved, supported and respected.”

Premier Rockliff has put Eric Abetz in charge of cutting jobs and services to pay for 13 years of Liberal waste, and workers are being left to deal with the chaos.

More than $30 million was spent on prison overtime in just over two years, while almost 40 prison officer positions are left unfilled.

Leaving positions vacant isn’t saving money. It’s pushing millions into overtime and putting even more pressure on the officers working extra shifts to keep our prisons safe.

Another example of Tasmanians paying the price for 13 years of Liberal waste.

A week ago, Education Minister Jo Palmer’s office said there was no proposal to cut jobs from the Inclusive Practice Team.

Now we know a quarter of the team is set to go.

These specialist educators work alongside teachers and school staff to help children with disability and complex learning needs get the support they need to learn and thrive at school.

Cutting this team means fewer experts supporting our teachers, and less support for the kids who rely on them.

Minister Palmer needs to correct the record and explain why families and workers were told these cuts weren’t happening.

Once again, Tasmanian children and families are being asked to pay the price for 13 years of Liberal waste.

TasWater’s decision to pause unfair price increases is welcome relief for affected businesses and community organisations.

It comes after sustained pressure from Labor, as well as local businesses and community groups calling for action.

For months, Labor has been raising concerns about rising TasWater costs and calling on the Liberal Government to step in.

Tasmanians don’t want political spin from a Premier trying to rewrite the history of his own Government’s decisions. They want a government that acts in their best interests.
