The new way of planning aims to make planning fairer and easier to understand.

Before it starts from April 2027, we need to put it to the test. How does it work for participants with different disability-related support needs, backgrounds and life experiences?

Testing with a wide range of participants helps us learn what works well and what needs to improve.

If you choose to take part:

🔒 what you tell us during testing is kept separate from your NDIS record

✅ it won’t affect your current or future NDIS plan, funding, supports or eligibility

💬 your feedback will help shape future testing and the new way of planning

💰 you’ll be paid $200 for each testing activity you complete.

Taking part is voluntary. Participants aged 18 and over and their nominees can apply to take part.

Changes to some NDIS support budgets came into effect on 1 October. This means some budgets will be reduced over the coming 12 months when you get a new plan.

This change will reduce participant budgets for two support categories:

👉🏻Social, Economic and Community Participation

👉🏻Improved Daily Living Skills.

Not all supports in these categories are affected. Supports that aren't affected include supports in employment, disability-related health supports, high intensity supports, intensive and complex behaviour supports, customised and wearable technology and hearing services.

Changes to some NDIS support budgets are now in effect.

The changes will reduce budgets for Social, Economic and Community Participation and Improved Daily Living Skills when:

📅 a new plan is created (from October 2026)

📅 a plan is reassessed (from October 2026 to September 2027)

📅 a plan is renewed (from February 2027 to September 2027).

If your current plan end date is after 30 September 2027, it will be brought forward. We’ll give you at least 60 days’ notice if we do this.

The support budget reductions don’t apply to new framework plans.

Some budgets will change over the following 12 months in two support categories:

👉🏼 Social, Economic and Community Participation

👉🏼 Improved Daily Living Skills.

The impacts will be different for every participant. In this example you can see what the changes mean for Connor, whose NDIS plan includes some SECP supports that aren't included in the budget reductions.
