PRO7 SUSTAINS SCHOOL POLICE PRESENCE AS HOLIDAY RUSH NEARS

The Police Regional Office 7 (PRO7) continues to strengthen its police presence in schools across Central Visayas as the final quarter of the year gets underway and holiday activities begin to increase.

Police personnel maintain visibility in and around school premises, particularly during the arrival and dismissal of students, school activities, and year-end gatherings. The deployment aims to help protect students, teachers, school personnel, and administrators and ensure that police assistance is readily available when needed.

With the holiday season approaching, PRO7 is also preparing for increased movement of people and more activities in schools and communities. Police units are coordinating with school administrators and local authorities to address security concerns and help ensure the safe conduct of year-end programs and holiday-related activities.

“The safety of our students and school communities remains a priority. We will sustain our police presence and coordination with schools so they can carry out their activities with confidence, knowing that our personnel are visible, accessible, and ready to respond when needed,” said PBGen Arnold E Abad, Regional Director, PRO7.

He also reminded students, parents, teachers, and school administrators to remain alert and immediately report suspicious activities or security concerns to the police.

PRO7 RECORDS ZERO INCIDENT DURING MARTIAL LAW DECLARATION ANNIVERSARY

Police Regional Office 7 (PRO7) recorded zero security-related incidents during the observance of the 54th Anniversary of the Declaration of Martial Law on September 21, 2026, following the deployment of almost 500 security personnel in strategic areas and identified convergence points across Metro Cebu.

The deployment was part of PRO7’s comprehensive security measures aimed at ensuring public safety, maintaining peace and order, and facilitating the peaceful exercise of the people’s constitutional right to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly.

Throughout the day, PRO7 personnel closely monitored several public assemblies conducted within Metro Cebu. Despite the presence of protesters and participants in various areas of convergence, the activities were peacefully concluded without any major untoward incident, confrontation, or disruption of public safety.

The security operation was anchored on proactive coordination, proper deployment of personnel, continuous monitoring, and the observance of maximum tolerance and professionalism in dealing with public assemblies. Police personnel were positioned in strategic locations to ensure the safety of both the participants and the general public while preventing any situation that could compromise peace and order.

Regional Director PBGEN ARNOLD E. ABAD commended the men and women of PRO7 for the successful implementation of the security plan, particularly their professionalism, restraint, and vigilance throughout the conduct of the activities.

“I commend our personnel for the disciplined and professional manner by which they carried out their duties. As PRO7 continues to strengthen its security preparedness, the Regional Director emphasized that the Police Regional Office 7 remains committed to providing a responsive and professional police service anchored on the vision of the “Bagong PNP Para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.”

This is why our police operations must always have a clear purpose, to make peace and security something that our people can actually feel in their communities. We will remain present, responsive, and committed to doing our part in making Central Visayas safer for everyone,” PBGEN ABAD said.

The Regional Director also underscored the importance of sustained police operations and community cooperation in addressing threats to peace and order.
