What an impressive group of students! Last week I visited a Public Policy class at Minnetonka High School to talk about the legislature and education policy. Thanks for having me and for being so engaged with state government. It’s inspiring to see the next generation getting involved!

Praying for the community members impacted by this fire and that everyone is accounted for safely. Thank you to the first responders from across multiple communities for stepping up this morning. Keep our neighbors and first responders in your hearts and prayers!

The news of an alleged plot to attack the Mall of America later this month is deeply disturbing. MOA is an iconic gathering place and an economic engine for our state that brings families together.

The kind of hate that has to exist in a person to be willing to plan out a devastating attack on innocent civilians is utterly horrifying.

Thank you to the law enforcement agencies that spent years working to stop this attack and protect our communities from what can only be described as an act of terrorism.

This alleged plot, and other recent violence in the metro area, is alarming to all of us. We cannot let this surge of violence become a new normal or escalate until more Minnesotans are harmed.

Thank law enforcement. Pray for Minnesota.

What’s the next best thing after eating Chicken Chanhassen while watching a show at the Chanhassen Dinner Theater?

Picking one up from a local Kowalski’s and eating it at home!

After more than 2 years of work to bring this product to life, it’s now available in the freezer aisles in Kowalski’s across the Twin Cities.

Whether you’re at the Theater or at home, the show must go on! Proud of Chanhassen Dinner Theater for making this a reality.

Never forget.

On September 11, 2001, nearly 3,000 innocent people were murdered in a terrorist attack on our country. First responders ran toward the danger — many never came home.

In the days that followed, we weren’t divided by party. We were Americans. Flags went up.
Neighbors helped neighbors. We stood together.

Twenty-five years later, we still owe the victims, the survivors, and those who ran toward the fire our memory and our gratitude.

We will never forget.

Happy first week back to school to many families out there!

The buses are rolling, the kids are excited, and the year is officially underway. Quick friendly reminder while we’re all getting back into the rhythm: red lights flashing on a bus means please stop about 20 feet away and wait until they turn off.

So glad I got to help write that commonsense update. Here’s to a wonderful year — go have a great week!

A wonderful morning at the Chaska Rotary where my colleague Senator Ann Rest was the guest speaker. Senator Rest is retiring this term after four decades in the legislature, and it was very interesting hearing about all the different experiences she’s had during that time. One of the things I will miss most about serving with her is she shares my philosophy that you can vehemently disagree with someone and still be respectful, ask about their families, and try your best to find common ground. Enjoy your retirement, Senator!

Making the most of the Waconia power outage over the last hour. Sounds like it’ll be back on soon!
