The fields I played on as a boy, back in use. Three years of not letting it drop - worth every bit of it.

Plymouth households have now recycled an incredible 1,000 tonnes of food waste since the new weekly collection service launched earlier this year.

For context, if that was packed into external caddies and lined up end to end, they would stretch for more than 26 kilometres, reaching from Plymouth city centre to Ivybridge.

The food waste is being turned into renewable energy and nutrient-rich fertiliser, helping boost recycling rates and reduce waste across the city.

Thank you to everyone taking part and making a difference! More info here: https://bit.ly/4rnOm37

Hi everyone,

We’re really sorry to share that the council had to temporarily close the Large Hall at Tothill Community Centre.

The council recently discovered a water leak that has caused some safety concerns with the ceiling at the main entrance. Because your safety is always the top priority, they’ve had to close the doors as a precaution while specialist teams figure out exactly what needs to be fixed. We know this is incredibly frustrating, especially with the other closure issues we've been dealing with lately.

We are truly sorry about the disruption this causes to your regular groups, events, and plans. Your local labour team are working hard to get answers and expect to have a clearer update on repairs within the next four weeks.

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding while we get this sorted.

The SMG Labour team were out Yesterday around Tothill talking to residents about all the support Sue Dann - Plymouth Labour and Mary Aspinall have given to the little cafe including helping to get it reopened soon.

Massive thanks to Councillor Kate Taylor for Ham for all the work she has done as cabinet member for finance to support our valuable community cafe.
