🚨 SCAM ALERT – PAYMENT OF TRAFFIC TICKETS & PARKING VIOLATIONS 🚨

The Mayville Police Department is reminding residents that police agencies will NOT call or text you asking you to pay a traffic ticket or parking violation.

If you receive a phone call or text message claiming that you have an unpaid traffic ticket, parking violation, or other fine and directing you to make a payment, it is a scam.

❌ Do NOT respond to the message.
❌ Do NOT provide personal or financial information.
❌ Do NOT click on any links.
❌ Do NOT attempt to make a payment using the information provided.

Scammers may use official-sounding language, threats of additional fines, license suspension, arrest, or other consequences to make their messages appear legitimate and pressure you into paying quickly.

If you are concerned that you may actually have an outstanding ticket or parking violation, contact the appropriate court or law enforcement agency using a phone number or website that you independently verify.

Please share this information with your family and friends. When in doubt, stop and verify before you pay!

In honor of a faithful servant and beloved companion, we announce the passing of retired Mayville Police Department K9 Boja, who was peacefully laid to rest today at 12 years old.
Born in Germany, K9 Boja crossed the ocean to protect and serve. She dedicated nearly 6 years of faithful service to the City of Mayville, working tirelessly alongside the Mayville Police Department to keep our community safe
Upon her retirement, Boja transitioned from a dedicated working dog to a cherished family member. She lived a rich, happy, and full retired life surrounded by the love of her handler, Officer Kirsten Birch, and family.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the K9 Bane Hero Foundation for their incredible support and ensuring our beloved retired police K9s are spoiled and cared for in their final years.

Thank you for your service, K9 Boja. Your watch has ended, we'll take it from here. Rest easy, girl. 🐾💙

A special thank you to the TAG Center for graciously allowing us to move the event indoors when rain appeared to be on the way. As it turned out, the rain never came—but perhaps that's because we moved inside!

This event truly showcases what makes our community special. Thank you to all of the City of Mayville departments, community partners, vendors, and volunteers who donated their time and talents to make the evening such a success. We couldn't do it without each of you.

A big thank you also goes to Mayville's own The Danios for providing outstanding live music throughout the evening. Your performance made a great event even better!
