🚸🙋‍♂️🚗 Back to school means back to slow!

🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️ A new school term kicks off today for a lot of schools in the Shire, and that means our roads will be buzzing again with students walking, riding, and being dropped off at school.

Let’s all do our part to keep Baw Baw’s kids safe:
✅ Slow down in school zones
✅ Stay alert for crossing children
✅ Follow the directions of our School Crossing Supervisors.

📚✨To all our young learners – welcome back! We hope you had a relaxing break and you're ready for a big term ahead!

Council is rolling out a parking infringement refund scheme after identifying an administrative issue that has resulted in the over-collection of parking infringement fines.

Motorists who received parking fines between 1 January 2002 to 30 June 2010 or 1 July 2016 to 4 August 2025 for seven minor types of parking infringements can jump online to see if they are eligible for a refund of the overcharged amount.

The refund amount depends on the date the infringement was issued and varies from $13.50 to $61.

To check your eligibility and apply for the partial refund, please visit -

This morning, we held an opening ceremony to mark the start of NAIDOC Week at the West Gippsland Arts Centre.

The event commenced with a smoking ceremony followed by the raising of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags - symbolising respect, recognition and unity.

Attendees also celebrated recipients of local NAIDOC Awards which acknowledge individuals and groups making a positive impact within the community. We congratulate all of the deserved winners.
