USO coordinated a visit for USCG New York to meet some of the cast from The Terminal List

Chris Pratt, Jared Shaw, Jack Carr, Gabriel Luna, Dar Salim, and David DiGilio spent the day with the Coast Guard crew touring facilities, seeing what the daily mission looks like, and even went for a ride on a Coast Guard small boat! 🎥⚓️

Visits like these not only keep morale high but remind coasties to stay and to take pride in their jobs!

💛 No one stands the watch alone.

In recognition of Su***de Prevention Awareness Month, the U.S. Coast Guard Northeast is reminding our members, families, and communities that mental health matters and no one should have to face life’s challenges alone.

Whether underway, standing duty, or at home, looking out for one another is part of who we are. A simple conversation, a moment of compassion, or checking in on a shipmate can make a lasting difference.

Asking for help is a sign of strength, and support is always available.

If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline. Service members and veterans can call 988 and press 1 for specialized support.

We are stronger together. You are never alone.

⚠️Mariner Safety Information for upcoming offshore storm⚠️
The U.S. Coast Guard Northeast District urges all mariners and coastal residents to prepare for a major offshore storm expected to impact the Northeast, Sept. 24-28th. The storm is expected to bring gale-force winds, offshore 15-25-foot seas, heavy coastal rainfall and significant tidal surge, creating dangerous conditions for vessels and shoreline infrastructure.
Mariners should remain in port, seek safe harbor, secure your vessel and loose gear for heavy winds and seas. Be sure to have the most up-to-date Marine Safety Information Broadcasts for your area. In the case of a maritime emergency, hail the Coast Guard on VHF Channel 16 or call your nearest Coast Guard Command Center.
Marinas, yacht clubs and private residents should ensure all paddle craft and small boats are secured to prevent unintentional drifting out to sea. Unsecured gear that washes adrift triggers false-alarm search-and-rescue operations, diverting emergency crews from real life-threatening emergencies.
