BRINGING SMILES BEHIND BARS: PROJECT ISEM AND PROJECT HAGIYO PROVIDE DENTAL CARE TO PDL!

LOOK || Project ISEM Cordillera Community Health Network Inc., headed by Dra. Mae Gabino Besweng, in partnership with Project HAGIYO led by FSUPT JESSIE S ANNASIW and KM Ngayon Na! Partylist conducted a dental mission for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) at Buguias District Jail.

This initiative aims to provide accessible healthcare for the health and well-being of PDL while strengthening partnerships with other agencies.

Buguias District Jail, under the leadership of JINSP MARCIAL N FALLONG, Acting Jail Warden, extends its sincere gratitude to Project ISEM Cordillera Community Health Network Inc., Project HAGIYO, KM Ngayon na! LOOK || Buguias District Jail Health Service Unit, in collaboration with DOH-CAR, MDRRMO Buguias, MDRRMO Mankayan, and MHO Buguias conducted a Basic Life Support (BLS) Training to jail personnel and Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL).

The training equipped participants with essential knowledge and practical skills in responding to medical emergencies, highlighting the importance of timely intervention and proper life-saving techniques.

Buguias District Jail, under the leadership of JINSP MARCIAL N FALLONG, Acting Jail Warden, extends its heartfelt gratitude to all partner agencies, particularly the Office of the Vice Governor of Benguet, for funding this valuable initiative.

BUGUIAS DISTRICT JAIL CELEBRATES INDIGENOUS PEOPLES’ MONTH

LOOK || In celebration of Indigenous Peoples’ Month, Buguias District Jail welcomed HON MANUEL D YANS, Municpal Councilor and Buguias Municipal IPMR Napoleon Palasi for an information drive to Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL).

The activity aimed to raise awareness of Indigenous Peoples’ rights, cultural heritage, traditions, and the importance of preserving and promoting indigenous identity.

Through this initiative, Buguias District Jail, under the leadership of JINSP MARCIAL N FALLONG, Acting Jail Warden, reaffirms its commitment to culturally sensitive jail management and the promotion of respect for Indigenous Peoples’ rights and heritage.

On October 23, 2026, personnel of Buguias District Jail responded to the request for manpower assistance from the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) of the Municipality of Buguias for the unloading and hauling of approximately 800 bags of rice at the Socio-Cultural Center in Loo, Buguias, Benguet.

Together, let us continue to support one another and extend a helping hand to those who need it.

JCSUPT DELVIC L OREIRO, DSC, JD, Regional Director of the Jail Bureau-CAR, through JINSP JANVER G BELEN, conducted inspection of fi****ms and am******on issued to on-duty personnel during their visit to Buguias District Jail on October 22, 2026.

During the activity, JINSP BELEN relayed the Regional Director’s reminder on the proper handling, accountability, and safekeeping of fi****ms and am******on at all times to prevent loss, misuse and firearm-related incidents.

JCSUPT DELVIC L OREIRO, DSC, JD, Regional Director of the Jail Bureau-CAR, together with personnel from the Regional Office and Baguio City Jail Male Dormitory, visited Buguias District Jail on October 22, 2026, as part of their stopover during the Biyaheng P.O.G.I. Bayanihan Ride for a Cause Challenge.

During the visit, the team conducted a roving inspection of the facility, including the jail premises, kitchen, armory, administrative office, fire extinguishers, and PDL dormitories, to assess the facility's overall condition and compliance with security and operational standards.

Meanwhile, JCINSP HONEY GRACE R BANDO, PJA Benguet and Chief of the Logistics Division, together with JINSP MARCIAL N FALLONG, Acting Jail Warden, inspected the livelihood products crafted by Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) and toured the facility.

The visit reinforced the importance of maintaining security, promoting accountability, and strengthening support for PDL livelihood initiatives, which contribute to their rehabilitation, skills development, and preparation for reintegration into the community.

Buguias District Jail Joined the observance of National School Safety Week at Lam-ayan Integrated School, Lam-ayan, Bangao, Buguias, Benguet!

In collaboration with partner agencies, personnel of this unit shared their knowledge and insights on school discipline, bullying prevention, and the importance of respect and responsible behavior among learners.

The activity also served as a gentle reminder to parents and students:

To Parents: Guide and discipline your children with love, consistency, and understanding.

To Students: Respect your parents and teachers, treat your classmates with kindness, and never use your words or actions to hurt others.

Under the leadership of JINSP MARCIAL N FALLONG, Acting Jail Warden, Buguias District Jail remains committed to strengthening community partnerships and supporting initiatives that promote child safety, positive discipline, and a peaceful and supportive learning environment.

The activity served as an opportunity to disseminate information on the jail's programs, services and updates, recognize the continued support of the community and strengthen coordination and partnership with local stakeholders in promoting peace, public safety and community development.
