July 27, 2026 — The Sangguniang Bayan of Agno convened its 52nd Regular Session, presided over by Hon. Jonathan G. Doromal, Municipal Vice Mayor and Presiding Officer, to deliberate on key legislative measures aimed at advancing good governance, public safety, social welfare, and sustainable local development.
During the session, members of the Sangguniang addressed matters concerning the proposed acceptance of donated parcels of land for a public road right-of-way in Barangay Magsaysay, ensuring infrastructure projects that will benefit the community. The body likewise received reports and communications from the DILG, DENR, and the Municipal Planning and Development Office on governance, environmental concerns, and land use planning.
Among the notable measures referred for committee action were the proposed Memorandum of Agreement between the Municipal Government and UCPB Savings Bank, as well as the drafting of the Agno Fisheries Code.
The session also received the First Reading of two proposed ordinances authored by Coun. Atty. Micah Alvin S. Gimelo:
* Proposed Municipal Ordinance No. 2026-15, requiring the presence of barangay officials and the Philippine National Police (PNP) in the vicinity of schools during student arrival and dismissal hours to enhance safety and security; and
* Proposed Municipal Ordinance No. 2026-16, mandating all barangays to conduct regular monitoring of indigent senior citizens, assess the habitability of their living conditions, and provide appropriate referrals and interventions.
These legislative initiatives underscore the Sangguniang Bayan’s continuing commitment to responsive governance, community safety, social protection, and the promotion of programs that uplift the welfare of every Agnoan.
