Marker 37 is a huge piece of the fabric that makes our coastal community special. This past week we were gifted an incredible evening of a community coming together for the grand reopening after the devastating fire that happened this past February.

A big thank you to Marker 37 for recognizing the Corpus Christi Fire Department for their quick response and efforts during the fire that destroyed their docks. We appreciate your support and recognition of our firefighters, who are always ready to serve and protect.

While saving lives is our number one priority, saving the community’s businesses and property matters as well.

We are here for you Corpus Christi!

Our firefighters put their boots on one leg at a time just like everybody else and get to work. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the job they are exposed to many more cancer causing carcinogens during the shift than the average person while fighting fire and being around diesel exhaust.

The City of Corpus Christi just stepped up on October 20, 2026 to continue the work of helping lessen the exposure of carcinogens to our firefighter/paramedics.

Our Corpus Christi City Council approved the acceptance of a FEMA AFG Grant in the amount of $781,818 which allows the Corpus Christi Fire Department to purchase and install direct capture exhaust ventilation systems in our fire stations.

This is a crucial piece of equipment for our firefighters to reduce the harmful exposure to the diesel exhaust our firefighters are exposed to every shift.

As we continue to tackle the challenges of reducing occupational cancer in the fire service this beneficial equipment will provide another tool for our firefighters.  The long term health of our firefighters/paramedics is highly important to us, we appreciate the support of our city in helping us achieve the grant award.

The Crew of Engine 8 responded to a vehicle fire on October 20, 2026 in Corpus Christi, Texas.

The pop sound heard in the video is the tire popping due to the heat. One of the many common hazards of fighting a vehicle fire.

CCFD’s next hiring process begins November 10, 2026. For more information on becoming a CCFD Firefighter/Paramedic Cadet please check out the following link: cctx.info/ccfdapply

While at Driscoll Children’s Hospital, our Fire Marshal Tony Perez and our Rescue 3 C-shift Crew had the honor of being introduced to Patch the Harlequin Great Dane, the Paws for Patients Therapy Dog!

“Patch loves the ocean, family time on the beach, long walks, golf cart and jeep rides, family movie night (Patch Adam’s is her favorite movie), bringing comfort to others, and making people smile. World Restart a Heart Day was a huge success at La Palmera Mall in Corpus Christi, Texas!

Our Corpus Christi Fire Department partnered with the American Heart Association and Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District for a great event aimed at doing our part in creating a Nation of Lifesavers. Together, we educated our neighbors on Hands-Only CPR.

We took this opportunity to tell everyone about our brand new upcoming CCFD Community Responder Program powered by the new GoodSAM app. A new way in our great city to help connect nearby trained responders to cardiac emergencies before EMS arrives. Stay tuned for details.
