It was wonderful to meet Taoiseach Micheál Martin to celebrate Maine and Ireland’s longstanding friendship. I also held bilateral talks with Irish government officials to discuss future collaborative opportunities in our fisheries, schools, businesses, and more.

Had a great day meeting with solar energy experts and TD Conor McGuinness, Chair of the Committee on Fisheries and Maritime Affairs. Exchanging ideas and collaborating on innovative business initiatives like these help to deliver better services for both Maine and Ireland.

I was honored to meet with Senator Mark Daly to discuss his important work in launching the American Irish Legislatures Caucus, a bipartisan group of legislators from both nations focused on expanding collaboration and trade.

Today, I spoke at Blue Ambition 2026 in Dublin, Ireland to highlight Maine’s innovative ocean and coastal industries! It was great to learn more about the blue economy and to meet with economic and business leaders to discuss ways to improve and expand Maine’s blue economy.

From lobster to eat, to kelp fueling cutting-edge research, and pristine waves for sailing, the ocean is at the heart of Maine. During Blue Economy Week, we honor the hard workers who harness the potential of our deep blue waters to propel Maine’s economy forward.

Speakers at Maine Blue Economy Week will include Luke Holden of Luke's Lobster and Maine State Economist Amanda Rector.

One of our Canadian friends Mark Critch visited Maine last week! We toured the state talking about how Trump’s whipsawing tariffs are hurting us all—including the dip in tourism. To my Canadian neighbors: Trump’s war is not ours. Come back, we miss you! https://youtu.be/lWAjWQfB8MM

It was great to break ground on the first Home for Good housing development in Augusta today! These 7 developments across Maine will provide stable housing and 24/7 wraparound services to help folks experiencing homelessness in our communities and to create long-lasting solutions.
