Over the school holidays Year 10 student Hayden Miller and 11 other Australian bowlers travelled and competed in the New Zealand Junior and Youth National titles, held in Tauranga.

In the singles, after 27 games he qualified 2nd in both junior (u18) and youth (u21) for the masters.

He won the junior masters and national title by almost 150 pins, then backed it up in the Youth division, but this time it came down to the last frame only winning by 8 pins.

He is only the 4th male to win both titles at the same time.

In the teams, he and 5 other bowlers versed 7 other teams, another from Australia and 6 from NZ. After 15 games, Hayden, and his team the Trans-Tasman Warriors won by a very close 1.5 points.

Hayden individually made the top 5 All-stars and threw the high game of the event, a 267.

Next event for him is representing Australia in Malaysia in December.

ARTSCAPE 2026 – 2 weeks away!

There’s now only 2 weeks until this year’s Pimlico SHS Artscape exhibition - our annual showcase event featuring the works of visual arts, media and film students across Years 7-12.

Each year, we like to embrace a theme for our Opening, which is a night also supported by XDance, music, drama and hospitality students. In case you missed our previous announcements, for 2026 if you’re smartie you’ll chews to drop in as one of your candy-crush favourites, but if that’s not mint to be, you can simply skittle along wearing your preferred lolly colour/s for our party-mix aesthetic of ‘CANDYLICIOUS!’ For those who have bean before, you know you’ll be in for a real sweet treat when L Block’s courtyard is wizz-fizzed and wrapped into a candy inspired land of delight.

Tell your family and friends, and do-nut forget to come - 23rd October!

What better way to wrap up another busy term than with our international students and host families coming together for an end of term BBQ at the Strand.

Everyone brought along a dish to share while our international students teamed up to make a tiramasu for dessert as appreciation to their host families.

Our host families are the lifeblood of our International Student Program. They open their homes and hearts to our students providing so much more than a place to stay. We are grateful for the care, support and experiences they provide.

A special thank you to the Ellis family for hosting Benedetta from Italy this term. Over the years, the Ellis family have welcomed many students from Italy and Germany into their home, forming friendships that have continued long after the students have returned home. Many of their former students have returned to visit, and the Ellis family have even travelled to Italy to catch up with students they have hosted. What a beautiful example of the lifelong friendships and connections that can grow through homestay.

If you would like to become part of our homestay community, we would love to hear from you. Please email [email protected] for more information.

Year 10 student, Kasey had a very different week week 1 of her September school holidays! Being involved as a STEM cancer researcher!

From Cairns to the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane, aspiring young scientists have travelled across Queensland to spend a week at TRI, experiencing life in a real research laboratory.

Through TRI's SPARQ-ed immersion program, students are investigating how healthy and cancer cells respond to oxidative damage that occurs after chemotherapy, inspired by the work of TRI-based Professor Brian Gabrielli from Mater Research.

Thanks to the support of LMRF: Lions Medical Research Foundation, students from regional Queensland can access this unique hands-on research experience.

ARRIVEDERCI & FAREWELL

In the last week of Term 3, our international students enjoyed a special morning tea yesterday as we said farewell to Benedetta who is heading home to Italy after spending term 3 with us.

It has been wonderful having Benedetta as part of our school community this term. We hope she leaves with many special memories of her time at Pimlico and with her host family, the friendships she has made and her experiences in Australia. Our Executive Principal also joined us to present Benedetta with her certificate of appreciation and a souvenir bag filled with keepsakes to remind Benedetta of her time in Australia.

We wish Benedetta all the best in her future studies.

Arrivederci e buona fortuna Benedetta!

For any Year 12 student to achieve 100% on a single assessment is something to be proud of. To consistently have a large number of students achieve this is remarkable, and testament to the hard work of successive Year 12 cohorts.

After Internal Assessment Two in 2026, an incredible 36 students achieved a 100% result a total of 59 times.

After Internal Assessment Three in 2026, an incredible 37 students achieved a 100% result a total of 57 times.

Congratulations to all of these students on their efforts and success, as well as the entire 2026 Year 12 cohort for being a kind and caring group of young people who support one another to do their best.

Thank you also to their wonderful teachers who work so hard to support all of their students.

On the first Sunday of the school holidays, XDance competed along with 12 other Secondary School Dance Groups at the Townsville Eisteddfod.

We are thrilled to share that Pimlico's Dance Troupe received a Highly Commended Award for their performance of 'Jericho' choreographed by the talented Miss Reece.
