The Board, under the provisions of Iowa Code Chapter 542, assures the competency and ethical conduct and standards required of Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) and Licensed Public Accountants (LPAs) in the State of Iowa. This includes examination of CPA and LPA candidates, issuing of certificates and licenses, setting the requirements for continuing education, investigating violations and infractions of the accountancy laws and rules, and also determining appropriate discipline for those who are found to have violated the statutes or regulations.
