Twenty-five years ago today, we lost nearly 3000 Americans in the deadly 9/11 terror attacks. It will forever be remembered as one of the darkest days in our nation’s history and we will never forget those who were lost. At the same time, we remember the incredible bravery and resilience shown by the first responders, neighbors and every courageous individual who leant a hand in the rescue and clean up, or simply a shoulder to cry on. Our hearts remain with the families and loved ones of those lost on this tragic day.

UPDATE: We won. Permanent absentee voting has been upheld in a summary judgment, preserving ballot access for thousands of Delawareans. Proud of the team that's been fighting to protect this law.

This challenge, made by Delaware Senate Minority Leader Gerald Hocker, comes less than two months before general elections.

On Monday, the United States Supreme Court stayed a lower court's ruling that sided with Delaware and 22 other states and territories in halting the Trump Administration's Executive Order to force the United States Postal Service to change regulations and restrict mail voting nationwide.

The Supreme Court's decision was based on standing, not substance — it was about the timing of the states' lawsuits, not the merits. While we disagree, today's filing addresses that argument. We are suing again to stop this illegal, unconstitutional attack on our elections.

Delaware is overwhelmingly winning our cases in federal court, and we will continue to fight to safeguard the states' constitutional right to conduct their own elections. Delaware’s Department of Elections is working hard to preserve access to absentee voting while litigation is ongoing.

Attorney General Kathy Jennings today announced she and a coalition of 19 attorneys general and one city have filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), challenging its rule that would weaken regulations designed to phase out the use of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) in commercial equipment.

If allowed to move forward, the rule - a violation of the bipartisan AIM Act - will increase HFC emissions, accelerating the damage already threatening our planet from climate change. In Delaware, the most dramatic effect would come from sea level rise, beach erosion, flooding, coastal storms and the loss of farming and grazing land due to saltwater infiltration along the Delaware Bay. Further, by undermining the parallel reduction in HFC supply and demand, the rule threatens to cause shortages and price spikes in the HFC market that could be passed from retailers to consumers.

"To go a full year without a shooting or a homicide is a great accomplishment for any community, but it's really due to the hard work and the partnerships throughout the state that we've built," Milford Police Chief Cecilia Ashe said.

The Milford Police Department is celebrating what it calls a historic achievement after the city reached one full year without a homicide or shooting for the first time in more

Attorney General Kathy Jennings released the following statement in response to the Supreme Court siding with her and her fellow Attorneys General over the Trump Administration on the issue of birthright citizenship:

“When President Trump took office in 2025, he immediately issued a flood of flagrantly unconstitutional and illegal executive orders. In a matter of days, I and my fellow Attorneys General began filing lawsuits to stop him. We have filed more than 50 lawsuits and have overwhelmingly succeeded. That continued today in the Supreme Court.

Our first lawsuit was to block the President’s obscene attempt to dismantle birthright citizenship—a constitutional guarantee issued in the wake of the fight against slavery, and which in the years since has been the first chapter in millions of American families’ stories. The birthright case completely embodied the heart of what was, and continues to be, at stake in the fight to stop this Administration’s overreach: this country’s identity as a nation of laws and a family of immigrants. The Supreme Court’s ruling is a victory on both counts.

The Court affirmed today two simple and undeniable truths: first, the President is subordinate to the Constitution, not the other way around. Second, immigration is a fundamental, irrevocable, and explicit pillar of the American experiment.

While today represents a decisive victory for the Constitution and the rule of law, it is troubling that the Court agonized for so long over what amounted to a straightforward reading of the 14th Amendment. This was not a complicated case: no serious lawyer believes that the President can nullify a constitutional provision with the stroke of a pen; the fact that 4 justices disagreed is a shameful spectacle of a once-proud institution’s capture by extremist interest groups like the Heritage Foundation and its genuflection to executive whim. It is not lost on me that, on the same day we breathe relief on basic constitutional affirmations, those justices also issued rulings that stripped transgender individuals of their fundamental rights and weakened our already anemic campaign finance laws. The fight is far from over.

I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this historic victory for the Constitution and the rule of law, and for the tireless work of our staff and my fellow Attorneys General on this case. I will continue to fight any and all lawlessness by this Administration wherever it may rear its head.”

Cryptokiosks and Bitcoin ATMS are not just overwhelmingly, but almost *exclusively* used as tools to commit fraud and theft against our most vulnerable neighbors. I'm so proud of the work that our team has done with Rep. Cyndie Romer and Sen. Spiros Mantzavinos to ban them in the State of Delaware. The Senate has just two more days to finish this vital work.

Lawmakers have advanced legislation that would ban all cryptocurrency kiosks statewide, with physical removal mandated within 90 days.

Attorney General Kathy Jennings released the following statement in response to the Delaware House of Representatives’ failure to pass SB 100:

“For years now, Delaware's General Assembly has repeatedly moved the needle forward on LGBTQ+ rights and civil rights writ large; in recent years that movement has been unflinching. That record makes it all the more shocking and upsetting that the Delaware House of Representatives failed to advance a basic, core tenant of equality—cementing in our constitution the right to same-sex and in*******al marriage and guaranteeing those rights regardless of political majority or the U.S. Supreme Court’s rulings. We have been taught more than once that policy once considered “settled law” is anything but, and we must operate under that paradigm.

Failing to permanently enshrine those protections in our state's Constitution is an appalling abdication of the state government's duty to guarantee the rights of every Delawarean. It adds insult to injury that this vote was cast in the closing days of Pride Month.

This constitutional amendment can yet be revived and brought up for a new vote, and I join Delawareans across the state in urging members to reconsider their votes. We can and must guarantee, now, while we can, that this right is enshrined in the Constitution in perpetuity.”
