Catalyst is a nonprofit organization that serves victims and survivors of intimate partner violence, regardless of ethnicity, citizenship, language, religion, physical disabilities, sexual orientation, gender identity or HIV status.

LGBTQ+ (Le***an, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Q***r, +) Services were implemented to better serve and to be more inclusive of LGBTQ+ identities and experiences. Catalyst is an ally to the LGBTQ+ community and wants everyone to identify Catalyst as safe space. Together we can work to break down barriers to accessing services by providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for LGBTQ+ victims and survivors. General information

Catalyst has provided services to LGBTQ+ (Le***an, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Q***r, +) victims and survivors for many years. Given that intimate partner violence occurs at the same rate in LGBTQ+ relationships and heterosexual relationships (25-33%), there is a definite need for a program that caters to the unique needs of people who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community. However, while many tactics that are used by abusive partners to achieve and maintain power and control are the same in heterosexual relationships and LGBTQ+ relationships, there are various barriers in place that restrict LGBTQ+ individuals from seeking out and receiving services, and thus from getting out of these abusive or unhealthy situations. This program was created to break down those barriers, and to identify Catalyst as a safe and welcoming space for these communities.
