It was my pleasure to be invited to open the Grove Resource Base at Littleton Green School today. What a fantastic new facility! It is a significant step forward in the school’s commitment to provide inclusive and supportive education for all children.

For the past five years, Littleton Green has been a beacon of support for all children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), successfully running a resource base within the school. Today we celebrated the opening of a brand new, purpose built facility to enhance this provision.

The Grove Resource Base is a symbol of our belief in the potential of every child and provides so many more opportunities for the children. It’s a step to ensure that all children, regardless of their individual needs, can access the education that they deserve.

The head teacher, Lynn Thornycroft, and all her staff, believe in fostering a happy and supportive atmosphere where children feel valued and empowered.. Their goal has always been to create a community of happy, confident, and resilient learners who are ready to take on the challenges of the world.

One of my election promises is to support all of the Parish Councils across the Trent Valley Division.

Local democracy begins with our hard working Parish councillors who give up their time to support their local residents.

Last night I attended the Sandon and Burston parish council and I will continue to make my way around the Division showing support for all the excellent work our parish councillors deliver.

It was my privilege to attend the Public Meeting at Aston Village Hall and support the local community in opposition of the proposed green field development. I wanted to show my solidarity with the residents and assure them of my assistance in this fight.

Richborough Commercial recently announced their plans to construct logistical and industrial units, on a 192 acre green field site, on the Stone Business Park boundary. This is the wrong development in the wrong place! It will absolutely change the landscape for this rural community and create a monstrous industrial estate that will dominate the landscape. Moreover, the land is currently being used for agriculture and is of huge value for the British food industry. Reaching any kind of carbon neutrality is impossible without the unequivocal support from the farming community and our support for them in return.

There is currently an action group being set up and no doubt there will be further meetings in the future. No official application has been received yet by the Borough Council, but we are awaiting one.

I would like to thank resident Simon Bell, for arranging this meeting, Sir Gavin Williamson and local community activist Steve Walley for their support.
