One of my favorite parts of our graduations is seeing our students wear these future educator stoles! 🎓 Looking forward to handing out diplomas in just a couple days!
From a bouncy first-grader to a future educator, Frederick Douglass High School senior Alayshia Catching is turning her childhood inspiration into a lifelong calling! Through the FCPS Teaching & Learning pathway, she spent her senior year as a teaching assistant in her former first-grade classroom and is now heading to the University of Kentucky to major in elementary education. 🍎🎓

Congratulations to the graduates of Opportunity Middle College! Vice Chair Green and I were honored to celebrate this incredible group of scholars as they prepare to enter college with several credit hours under their belt. In fact, 9 of their graduates have earned their Associates degree alongside their high school diploma thanks to this program. We’ve made significant investments in dual credit programs and this remains a priority.
