Congratulations to Osage County Clerk Christina Talburt on earning her Basic and Advanced I & II Accreditation through the OSU County Training Program!

For Christina, this accomplishment is about much more than earning a certificate. It represents the commitment she made from the beginning to understand the responsibilities of the County Clerk’s Office and make sure it is serving Osage County the way it should.

Even before taking office, Christina worked tirelessly to prepare for the job. She attended training, learned from experienced county officials, and built relationships with clerks, other elected officials, and educators across Oklahoma who she could turn to with questions and learn from along the way.

She has continued that commitment since taking office. Christina has now completed at least 147 hours of coursework through the Basic, Advanced I, and Advanced II programs, covering county budgeting and accounting, Oklahoma statutes, Open Meetings and Open Records, land records, personnel management, and more.

These accreditations are presented only twice a year, and Christina had completed the required coursework for Advanced II before the opportunity to formally receive it arose.

County government can be complicated, and knowing why something is done is just as important as knowing how to do it. Christina has made it a priority to keep learning, ask questions and understand the work behind the decisions made every day.

We are proud of her continued dedication to the County Clerk’s Office and to the citizens of Osage County.

Congratulations Christina!

Happy Independence Day weekend!

We had a lot of fun putting together this special commemorative edition of Osage County Government News in honor of America's 250th Anniversary.

It highlights a little of our county's history, messages from many of our elected officials, and several local Independence Day celebrations happening across Osage County.

We hope you'll take a few minutes to read through it, reflect on those who came before us, and enjoy celebrating with your family, friends, and community.

Happy 250th Birthday, America! 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙
